TL;DR: In this paper, a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole was used as a radiating element of an active antenna amplifier for chip size realization, which demonstrated stable oscillations at a frequency of around 5.8 GHz within a 10 % bandwidth of 580 MHz (from 5.58 to 6.16 GHz).
Abstract: A coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole as a radiating element of an active antenna amplifier is proposed for chip size realization. A monopole antenna, which is integrated with a high electron mobility transistor (HEMT), demonstrates stable oscillations at a frequency of around 5.8 GHz within a 10 % bandwidth of 580 MHz (from 5.58 to 6.16 GHz). The active antenna has dimensions of 9 mm × 8 mm × 1.3 mm. The measurement results show that the antenna effective isotropic radiated power (EIRP) is +10.5 dBm, power added efficiency (PAE) 30.3 %, and the phase noise at 100 kHz offset −88.3 dBc/Hz.

TL;DR: In this article, the shape and placement of the antenna element were optimized experimentally to maximize the coupling between the antenna and self-oscillating mixer to increase the IF output level.
Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the parameters of parasitic element to increase IF output level of self-oscillating mixer using GaAs FET. The parasitic element acts as an electromagnetic array coupled antenna. The shape and placement of the antenna element are optimised experimentally to maximize the coupling between the antenna and self-oscillating mixer.

TL;DR: In this article, a 5G indoor and outdoor multipath MIMO transmit-receive active antenna system consisting of an antenna array, signal judgment unit, a signal processing unit, an outdoor 5G base station and an indoor 5G BS is presented.
Abstract: The invention discloses a 5G indoor and outdoor multipath MIMO transmit-receive active antenna system. The system comprises an MIMO antenna array, a signal judgment unit, a signal processing unit, anoutdoor 5G base station and an indoor 5G base station, the communication quality of 5G in a complex environment is improved, the channel capacity is greatly improved through the MIMO technology, and the obstacle penetrating capacity is enhanced under the condition that the communication quality is not affected; the 5G transmission efficiency is improved by adopting the MIMO technology, MIMO can improve the channel capacity of a fading channel exponentially, the multi-antenna array sending and receiving technology is essentially the combination of the space diversity technology and the time diversity technology, and the good anti-interference capability is achieved; and on the basis, the power consumption of the whole system is reduced through the signal judgment unit, and a signal processing unit can be not used under the conditions of small environmental interference and high signal-to-noise ratio, so that the power consumption is reduced.

TL;DR: In this article, an active antenna (AA) with 3-stage amplifier using CD(common drain) FET and 2 BJTs was designed for detecting unknown weak signals mixed with broadcasting and civilian communication signals.
Abstract: An active antenna(AA) can have wider bandwidth and more gain with small antenna size than those of passive antennas. However, AA inherently generates thermal noise and spurious signals from an active device. Moreover, the spurious performance of AA is very important in a highly sensitive receiving system since it is located at the front end of the receiving system. In this study, we developed an AA with , having the output P1dB higher than 3 dBm and little spurious signals in real environments. To achieve such performance, we designed an AA with 3-stage amplifier using CD(common drain) FET and 2 BJTs. Its electrical performances were simulated using ADS. The measurement results for typical gain, NF, OIP3, VSWR and P1dB in the required frequency band were 9.7 dBi, 10 dB, 14 dBm, 1.7:1 and 3 dBm respectively. They are in good agreement with simulation results. The unwanted spectrum level of the proposed AA is lower than that of the antenna with CS(common source) FET configuration at a west suburban area of Seoul, which shows that the proposed AA can be applicable to a highly sensitive receiving system for detecting unknown weak signals mixed with broadcasting and civilian communication signals.

TL;DR: In this article, a circularly polarized (CP) broadband high efficiency active integrated antenna (AIA) was proposed to serve as the harmonicsterminated load for class-E high efficiency power amplifier (PA).
Abstract: This paper presents a circularly polarized (CP) broadband high efficiency active integrated antenna (AIA). To realize the broadband CP antenna, a circular patch is coupled by crossed slots in the ground plane, which are fed by an L-shaped microstrip feed line below the ground. The antenna is designed to serve as the harmonics-terminated load for class-E high-efficiency power amplifier (PA). The broadband CP active antenna is realized by directly integrating the broadband CP antenna with a broadband class-E PA.
