TL;DR: Advantages of the diamond dipole antenna as an active antenna are presented in this paper, where it is shown that the diamond antenna may be an effective element of a new antenna array for low-frequency radio astronomy as well as a communication antenna.
Abstract: Advantages of the diamond dipole antenna as an active antenna are presented. Such an antenna is like an inverted bow-tie antenna, but the former has some advantages over the ordinary bow-tie antenna. It is shown that the diamond dipole antenna may be an effective element of a new antenna array for low-frequency radio astronomy as well as a communication antenna.

TL;DR: In this paper, a radio system consisting of an antenna array, transmit branches comprising respective power amplifiers, a predistortion subsystem comprising predistorters for the transmit branches respectively, a receive antenna element, a transmit observation receiver having an input coupled to the receive antenna elements, and an adaptor is described.
Abstract: Systems and methods for linearizing a radio system are disclosed In some embodiments, a radio system comprises an antenna array, transmit branches comprising respective power amplifiers, a predistortion subsystem comprising predistorters for the transmit branches respectively, a receive antenna element, a transmit observation receiver having an input coupled to the receive antenna element, and an adaptor The predistorters predistort respective transmit signals to provide predistorted transmit signals to the respective transmit branches for transmission via respective active antenna elements in the antenna array The transmit observation receiver is operable to receive, via the receive antenna element, a combined receive signal due to coupling between the receive antenna element and the active antenna elements The adaptor is operable to generate a combined reference signal based on the transmit signals and configure predistortion parameters input to the predistorters based on the combined reference signal and the combined receive signal

TL;DR: In this paper, a passive RFID transponder based on an enhancement mode pseudomorphic HEMT (EpHEMT) is proposed, taking advantage of the slightly positive threshold voltage of this transistor technology, a dual-function detector/mixer circuit with good RF-toDC and frequency conversion efficiency has been designed.
Abstract: In this letter, a passive RFID transponder based on an enhancement mode pseudomorphic HEMT (EpHEMT) is proposed. Taking advantage of the slightly positive threshold voltage of this transistor technology, a dual-function detector/mixer circuit with good RF-to-DC and frequency conversion efficiency has been designed. Such structure has been integrated in a conveniently designed aperture coupled patch, configuring the complete tag unit. On reception of an interrogating signal, the detector switches on the data generator circuit, being the information signal up-converted near the interrogating frequency band through an optimized drain mixing configuration. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the 2-and 3-dimensional active power combiners and beam-control arrays was presented, instead of single-elements, focusing on the arrays.
Abstract: A review of the 2- and 3-dimensional active power combiners, and beam—control arrays was presented. Emphasis was placed on the arrays, instead of single-elements. 3-dimensional arrays include the active grid and that of the array-type. 2-dimensional arrays use the hybrid dielectric slab beam waveguide as the transmission medium. Beam-control, including beam—scanning, beam—switching and retrodirective, will be discussed. In all these arrays, both amplifier and oscillator arrays will be presented.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method and device for transmission of an active antenna system, which is compatible with the present LTE (Long Term Evolution) standard as good as possible, with good compatibility.
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and device for transmission of an active antenna system. In one embodiment, UE (User Equipment) firstly receives a downlink RS (Reference Signal), wherein the RS comprises M RS ports; a first RS port is selected from the M RS ports; then a first signature sequence is sent, and the first RS port maps the first signature sequence; and a downlink reply with respect to the first signature sequence is detected, wherein the downlink reply comprises a timing advanced instruction. The M is a positive integer larger than 1, and one RS port maps K signature sequences; and the K is a positive integer, and the downlink RS and the signature sequence are transmitted at the same carrier. According to the invention, the receiving quality of a RA (Random Access) sequence may be effectively improved or the power of the UE to send the RA sequence may be reduced. Moreover, the method and device for transmission of active antenna system are compatible with the present LTE (Long Term Evolution) standard as good as possible, with good compatibility.
