TL;DR: In this paper, the authors concluded that for more than about seven beams the best system involves a phased array antenna, particularly if reconfigurability of the beams may be required, and that active phased arrays, with a power amplifier at each radiating element offer advantages in reliability and may indeed be the only way of handling the large total radiated power of future systems at acceptable levels of intermodulation.
Abstract: The anticipated density of satellite communications traffic with mobiles will require multi-beam earth coverage. Multiple beams can be generated from reflector antennas with multiple feeds or from a phased array aperture. The constraints on each system are discussed, and it is concluded that for more than about seven beams the best system involves a phased array antenna, particularly if reconfigurability of the beams may be required. Active phased arrays, with a power amplifier at each radiating element offer advantages in reliability and may indeed be the only way of handling the large total radiated power of future systems at acceptable levels of intermodulation.

TL;DR: In this article, a digital signal processing apparatus for controlling interference between cell boundaries using an active antenna system, a wireless communications system, and a method of controlling interference at cell boundaries is presented.
Abstract: Disclosed are a digital signal processing apparatus for controlling interference between cell boundaries using an active antenna system, a wireless communications system, and a method of controlling interference between cell boundaries The system comprises: a digital signal processing apparatus, which is connected to a core system and processes a wireless digital signal, and a plurality of active antenna systems The active antenna systems include an active antenna which is physically separated from the digital signal processing apparatus and is capable of antenna tilting and beamforming for vertical cell division, and a wireless signal processing device which converts and amplifies the digital signal received from the digital signal processing apparatus, transmits the result to a terminal through the active antenna, receives a signal transmitted from the terminal through the active antenna, and delivers the received signal to the digital signal processing apparatus The digital signal processing apparatus divides a previous cell into more cells by forming additional cells at a boundary of a cell, when interference between cell boundaries of cells formed by the active antenna is increased, thereby controlling the interference between cell boundaries

TL;DR: In this article, a compact doppler sensor with an oscillator type active antenna operating at 2.4GHz frequency band is proposed to measure the distance to a moving object.
Abstract: In this paper, a compact doppler sensor with oscillator type active antenna operating at 2.4GHz frequency band is proposed to measure the distance to a moving object. The oscillation frequency is shifted depending on approaching of the object, and a detection circuit discriminates the frequency deviation. The active antenna has been designed and simulated. The prototype fabricated has a small circular disk type of diameter 30mm and height 4.2mm. As for antenna performance, broadside radiation pattern with beamwidth of and oscillation frequency of 2.35GHz has been measured. Test results as a range sensor shows that signal voltage of about 240mV has been obtained for conducting plate moving 1 meter away from the sensor. And, signal voltage has been linearly increased to the ground from 5m height by free-falling the sensor.

TL;DR: In this article, a coupling enhanced antenna is proposed for being mounted in a movable device, which consists of an active antenna arranged on a mainboard of the movable devices, a metal coupling piece close to the active antenna, at least one metal radiating piece and a coaxial wire connected with the coupling piece and the radiating pieces.
Abstract: The invention relates to a coupling enhanced antenna which is used for being mounted in a movable device. The antenna comprises an active antenna arranged on a mainboard of the movable device, a metal coupling piece close to the active antenna, at least one metal radiating piece and a coaxial wire connected with the coupling piece and the radiating piece. The coupling piece can be coupled with the active antenna to transmit received and sent signals to the active antenna, the radiating piece is placed on the edge of the movable device, and is away from a metal piece in the movable device, the blocking by the metal piece is reduced, and the efficiency and metal resisting capability of the antenna are enhanced.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the electromagnetic field distorted by the radome on the basic technical specifications of a direction finder, in the extension of the operating band of carrier frequencies and in obtaining a stable direction-finding characteristic in the working angular angle of view of not less than 60° and with the required accuracy of direction finding.
Abstract: FIELD: antenna equipment.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna equipment. Passive antenna system consists of ultra-wideband spiral antennas, that are structurally a combination of a flat and hemispherical bilifar helixes on a dielectric casing. Antennas are placed on a metal stationary cone ring located in a free section of the interior volume of the transparent radome, near its walls, coaxial with it and behind the pumping zone of an active antenna system, while in a receiver of the passive system, the correlation-extreme method of signal processing is applied.EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the effect of the electromagnetic field distorted by the radome on the basic technical specifications of a direction finder, in the extension of the operating band of carrier frequencies and in obtaining a stable direction-finding characteristic in the working angular angle of view of not less than 60° and with the required accuracy of direction finding.1 cl, 1 dwg
