TL;DR: In this article, an 18 GHz circularly polarised multilayer active antenna subarray using MMIC amplifiers is presented, which is the ideal building block for large microstrip phased array systems.
Abstract: This paper presents an 18 GHz circularly polarised multilayer active antenna subarray using MMIC amplifiers. With the advantage of a multilayer structure, the radiation patterns from the antenna side are not affected by the radiation from the circuit side. An extra gain of 15.46 dB has been measured in comparison to the passive array. This type of array can be the ideal building block for large microstrip phased array systems. >

TL;DR: In this article, a free-space RF triggering of an active antenna with a series connection is described, and an experimental demonstration of free space RF triggering is described in the context of one-port one-antenna circuits.
Abstract: Connecting several tunneling diodes - resonant tunneling diodes (RTD's) or tunnel diodes - in series has been shown to be a feasible method for increasing the output power and stability of oscillator circuits using these devices. However, such oscillators require special means of triggering due to biasing difficulties associated with their dc instability. RF triggering was proven to be an effective method of initiating such an oscillation in one-port circuits. An experimental demonstration of free-space RF triggering of an active antenna with a series connection is described here. Active antenna circuits offer excellent isolation between the triggering and oscillation signals and a favorable configuration for spatial power-combining arrays.

TL;DR: In this paper, the antenna reception system has two colocalised active antennas with the same phase center placed at the upper end of a dielectric mast, and the antenna receiver section has filtering (5-1 to 5-n) mounted in the cabling in the mast.
Abstract: The antenna reception system has two colocalised active antennas (1) with the same phase center placed at the upper end of a dielectric mast (4). The antenna receiver section has filtering (5-1 to 5-n) mounted in the cabling in the mast, decoupling the antennas.

TL;DR: With constellations, the inter-satellite links become very essential for exchanging health keeping, command, control, scheduling and mission data so that wherever the satellite is in the globe, for crucial link establishes with ground at any time.
Abstract: Small satellite constellations are becoming space systems capable of operational space application products delivery and services. As the number of satellites are becoming large in each constellation of satellites, many of the operations of the satellite need to be smart with intelligence or expert systems. To achieve this, technology of the satellite sub-systems need to be improved for enabling such operations. One of the crucial sub-systems for data transfer is the communication sub-system and antenna design. With constellations, the inter-satellite links become very essential for exchanging health keeping, command, control, scheduling and mission data so that wherever the satellite is in the globe, for crucial link establishes with ground at any time. Beam switching with phased array concept, though used in many missions, a continuous development to make it small, light weight and more efficient, is a continuous effort.

TL;DR: In this article, a beam scanning method and a base station are presented, where the beam scanning parameters are generated according to the type of the antenna array, and the number of the beams is generated based on the use requirements and issued to the base station.
Abstract: The embodiment of the invention provides a beam scanning method and a base station, and relates to the technical field of communication. The method comprises the steps that beam scanning parameters and the number of beams for the base station are received, wherein the beam scanning parameters are generated according to the type of the antenna array, and the number of the beams is generated according to the type of the antenna array and use requirements and issued to the base station; verifying the wave beam scanning parameters and the wave beam number; and under the condition that the verification succeeds, sending the beam scanning parameters to the active antenna unit, wherein an antenna control unit of the active antenna unit controls the antenna array to perform beam scanning accordingto the beam scanning parameters. Beam scanning parameters can be generated in advance and issued to a base station for beam scanning, and time delay of beam scanning after an antenna array changes can be reduced.
