TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between the two Bethe ansaetze is reviewed following hep-th/0402207, and the authors show that the classical solutions of the sigma-model on AdS(5)xS (5) can also be parameterized by an integral equation of Bethe type.
Abstract: The Bethe ansatz can be used to compute anomalous dimensions in N=4 SYM theory. The classical solutions of the sigma-model on AdS(5)xS(5) can also be parameterized by an integral equation of Bethe type. In this note the relationship between the two Bethe ansaetze is reviewed following hep-th/0402207.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider effective actions for six-dimensional noncritical superstrings and show that the addition of N units of RR flux and of Nf space-time filling D5-branes produces AdS5×S1 solutions with curvature comparable to the string scale.
Abstract: We consider effective actions for six-dimensional noncritical superstrings We show that the addition of N units of RR flux and of Nf space–time filling D5-branes produces AdS5×S1 solutions with curvature comparable to the string scale These solutions have the right structure to be dual to supersymmetric SU(N) gauge theories with Nf flavors We further suggest bounds on the mass-squared of tachyonic fields in this background that should restrict the theory to the conformal window

TL;DR: In this article, the boundary term of the Dirac action in the AdS/CFT correspondence for spinor fields is defined and the requirement that the action be stationary for solutions of Dirac equations in anti-de Sitter space with a definite asymptotic behaviour is fixed.
Abstract: The requirement that the action be stationary for solutions of the Dirac equations in anti-de Sitter space with a definite asymptotic behaviour is shown to fix the boundary term (with its coefficient) that must be added to the standard Dirac action in the AdS/CFT correspondence for spinor fields.

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the mass gap of near-extremal black holes coincides with the so-called thermodynamic mass gap, a scale which signals the breakdown of their thermodynamic description.
Abstract: It has been argued recently by Almheiri and Polchinski that the near-horizon conformal symmetry of extremal black holes must be broken due to gravitational backreaction at an IR scale linear in G N . In this paper, we show that this scale coincides with the so-called ‘thermodynamic mass gap’ of near-extremal black holes, a scale which signals the breakdown of their thermodynamic description. We also develop a method which extends the analysis of Almheiri and Polchinski to more complicated models with extremal throats by studying the bulk linearized quantum field theory. Moreover, we show how their original model correctly captures the universal physics of the near-horizon region of near-extremal black holes at tree level, and conclude that this equivalence of the conformal breaking and mass gap scale is general.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used holography to calculate the universal contribution to the corresponding S 4 free energy at large N and large T Hooft coupling, and their result matches the expression previously computed using supersymmetric localization in the Yang-Mills theory.
Abstract: Wend the gravity dual ofN = 2 super-Yang-Mills theory on S 4 and use holography to calculate the universal contribution to the corresponding S 4 free energy at large N and large 't Hooft coupling. Our result matches the expression previously computed using supersymmetric localization in theeld theory. This match represents a non-trivial precision test of holography in a non-conformal, Euclidean signature setting.
