TL;DR: In this article, lattice simulations of 16 supercharge $SU(N)$ Yang-Mills quantum mechanics in the 't Hooft limit were performed, and the results were consistent with the dual black hole prediction.
Abstract: We report on lattice simulations of 16 supercharge $SU(N)$ Yang-Mills quantum mechanics in the 't Hooft limit Maldacena duality conjectures that in this limit the theory is dual to IIA string theory, and, in particular, that the behavior of the thermal theory at low temperature is equivalent to that of certain black holes in IIA supergravity Our simulations probe the low temperature regime for $N\ensuremath{\le}5$ and the intermediate and high temperature regimes for $N\ensuremath{\le}12$ We observe 't Hooft scaling, and at low temperatures our results are consistent with the dual black hole prediction The intermediate temperature range is dual to the Horowitz-Polchinski correspondence region, and our results are consistent with continuous behavior there We include the Pfaffian phase arising from the fermions in our calculations where appropriate

TL;DR: In this paper, an exact connection between the Choptuik scaling parameter for the three-dimensional Ba\~nados-Teitelboim-Zanelli black hole, and the imaginary part of the quasinormal frequencies for scalar perturbations was established.
Abstract: We establish an exact connection between the Choptuik scaling parameter for the three-dimensional Ba\~nados-Teitelboim-Zanelli black hole, and the imaginary part of the quasinormal frequencies for scalar perturbations. Via the anti--de Sitter space/conformal-field theory correspondence, this leads to an interpretation of Choptuik scaling in terms of the time scale for return to equilibrium of the dual conformal field theory.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduced the impact parameter representation for conformal field theory correlators of the form A similar to (O 1O2O1O2), which approximates the conformal partial wave decomposition in the limit of large spin and dimension of the exchanged primary.

TL;DR: In this article, a de Sitter brane-world bounding regions of anti-de Sitter space has a macroscopic entropy given by one-quarter the area of the observer horizon.
Abstract: A de Sitter brane-world bounding regions of anti-de Sitter space has a macroscopic entropy given by one-quarter the area of the observer horizon. A proposed variant of the AdS/CFT correspondence gives a dual description of this cosmology as conformal field theory coupled to gravity in de Sitter space. In the case of two-dimensional de Sitter space this provides a microscopic derivation of the entropy, including the one-quarter, as quantum entanglement of the conformal field theory across the horizon.

TL;DR: In this paper, a family of supersymmetric Wilson loop operators in = 4 supersymmymmetric Yang-Mills theory was studied and the string theory dual explicitly and for the general case the string solutions satisfy a first order differential equation.
Abstract: This paper studies in great detail a family of supersymmetric Wilson loop operators in = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory we have recently found. For a generic curve on an S3 in space-time the loops preserve two supercharges but we will also study special cases which preserve 4, 8 and 16 supercharges. For certain loops we find the string theory dual explicitly and for the general case we show that string solutions satisfy a first order differential equation. This equation expresses the fact that the strings are pseudo-holomorphic with respect to a novel almost complex structure we construct on AdS4 ? S2. We then discuss loops restricted to S2 and provide evidence that they can be calculated in terms of similar observables in purely bosonic YM in two dimensions on the sphere.
