TL;DR: In this paper, the exhausts from the cylinders of a four cylinder ic engine are joined together in pairs (5a, 5b) and the common pipe from each pair leads to a three stage catalytic afterburner (10a, 10b) which is admitted upstream of the afterburners through two connections (23a, 23b) from the air inlet filter.
Abstract: The exhausts from the cylinders of a four cylinder ic engine are joined together in pairs (5a, 5b) The common pipe from each pair leads to a three stage catalytic afterburner (10a, 10b) the discharges from which are joined together Secondary air is admitted upstream of the afterburners through two connections (23a, 23b) from the air inlet filter (2) Each connection contains a valve (21a, 21b) operated by the pressure in the exhaust pipe Secondary air is thus admitted into the afterburners in pulses to give a fuel air ratio which is alternately above and below the stoichiometric ratio This maintains the afterburning at optimum conditions over a wide range of engine loads

TL;DR: In this paper, a geometrical variable flame stabilizing device for aircraft engines is presented. But the design of the flame stabilizer can be changed to effectively reduce the flow resistance of the stabilizer if necessary.
Abstract: The invention discloses a geometrical variable flame stabilizing device and belongs to the technical field of afterburner flame stabilization of aircraft engines. The geometrical variable flame stabilizing device disclosed by the invention utilizes a V-shape as a basic bluff body structure and consists of a main body part and a transmission power part, wherein the main body part is vertically installed in an afterburner cartridge receiver, the afterburner cartridge receiver comprises a front streamline head part, a blade A with a rotating shaft A, a blade B with a rotating shaft B, a rotating shaft supporting plate and a mounting seat, and the two ends of the streamline head part are fixedly connected between the mounting seat and the rotating shaft supporting plate. The geometrical shape of the flame stabilizing device provided by the invention can be changed to effectively reduce the flow resistance of the flame stabilizing device if necessary, or the flow resistance is increased within a short time to improve the ignition success rate, or the geometrical shape of the flame stabilizing device is adjusted to consistently keep the flame stabilizing device at the optimal combination point of the flame stabilization and flow resistance loss so as to obtain the maximal thrust performance of the afterburner.

TL;DR: In this article, an afterburning furnace 2 is disposed over a gasification stove furnace 1, and both furnaces are interconnected via a gas passage 7 having a smaller inside diameter than the furnaces 1 and 2.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extremely marketable innovative stove with a dry distillation gas afterburner that is compact for footprint reduction and streamlines combustion in the stove, and such an afterburner. SOLUTION: An afterburning furnace 2 is disposed over a gasification stove furnace 1, and both furnaces 1 and 2 are interconnected via a gas passage 7 having a smaller inside diameter than the furnaces 1 and 2. A gas burner, electric heater or kerosene burner is disposed to promote combustion in the afterburning furnace 2. Inflammable gas generated by dry distillation gasification of firewood or solid fuel in the gasification stove furnace 1 is introduced via the communication part 7 into the afterburning furnace 2, which provides afterburning.
