TL;DR: A corrosion inhibitor for use in the storage, distribution and use of alcohol as a fuel for internal combustion engines is described in this article, which comprises a triazole and an amine salt of an acid.
Abstract: There is provided a corrosion inhibitor for use in the storage, distribution and use of alcohol as a fuel for internal combustion engines. The inhibitor comprises a triazole and an amine salt of an acid. There is further provided a corrosion-inhibited alcohol fuel and a method of inhibiting corrosion in metals.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of fuel type, spark timing, and fuel injection timing on efficiency and emissions was investigated with a Texaco stratified-charge engine, and the results showed engine efficiency ranges from about 20 percent at light-load to over 30 percent at full-load.
Abstract: Experimental work was done with a Texaco stratified-charge engine to investigate the effect of fuel type, spark timing, and fuel injection timing on efficiency and emissions. Gasoline, diesel fuel, and a mixture of the two in equal proportions were used as fuels. The mixture of gasoline and diesel fuel simulates a broad-boiling-range fuel, referred to as ''broadcut fuel.'' Data were taken during full-load and part-load operations; the part-load operation simulated road-load conditions for a 3,000-lb vehicle. Results show engine efficiency ranges from about 20 percent at light-load to over 30 percent at full-load. The difference in efficiency attributable to fuel type was one to two percent. Between the two fuels gasoline and diesel, greater efficiency was associated with diesel fuel at part-load while the greater efficiency at full-load was seen with gasoline. Broadcut fuels generally resulted in efficiencies similar to the efficiencies of operation with diesel fuel at part-load or with gasoline at full-load. The results for all fuels show that spark timing set equal to fuel injection timing generally produced the best efficiency and, except for nitrogen oxides, the lowest emissions.

TL;DR: In this article, a fuel supply system for engine is described, in particular it relates to an automobile flexible fuel injection method and device adopting methyl alcohol fuel or ethyl alcohol fuel.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fuel supply system for engine, in particular it relates to an automobile flexible fuel injection method and device adopting methyl alcohol fuel or ethyl alcohol fuel. It is characterized by that on the basis of existent gasoline fuel injection system an alcohol fuel injection system is added, a flexible mixed fuel controller is used for controlling gasoline fuel injection system and alcohol fuel injection system, and a change-over switch is utilized to control the alcohol fuel nozzle and gasoline nozzle, so that the fuel fed into the engine can be gasoline, alcohol fuel or mixed fuel of them according to a certain mixing ratio.

TL;DR: Ricebran oil was thermally decomposed using different loads of calcium oxide as catalyst and the fuel properties of the cracked product were evaluated as compared to those of diesel fuel.
Abstract: Ricebran oil; a non edible oil, was thermally decomposed using different loads of calcium oxide as catalyst. The fuel properties of the cracked product were evaluated as compared to those of diesel fuel. The considered properties included the calorific value, flash point, viscosity, pour point, distillation characteristics, cetane number in addition to some other fuel properties. The results had shown that the fuel properties of the decomposed oil were quite similar to those of standard diesel fuel. The calorific value was 80-90% that of diesel fuel and the viscosity was sligthy higher. The prepared fuel was advantageous over diesel fuel as the former was completely free from sulfur, which on fuel combustion produces corrosive gases of sulfur oxides.
