TL;DR: In this paper, two Euro 3 commercial trucks fuelled with a 30% v/v biodiesel/diesel fuel blend (B30) and pure diesel fuel were tested in laboratory under the standard driving conditions (UDC and EUDC driving cycles) and the CADC “URBAN” test cycle, in order to evaluate the fuel consumption, regulated (CO, HC, NOx, PM) and unregulated emissions (aldehydes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons).

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance, exhaust emissions and combustion behaviors of a single-cylinder, four-stroke, direct-injection diesel engine running on biodiesel/diesel/1-butanol and n-pentanol fuel blends were investigated and compared with diesel fuel under different engine speeds and full load operating conditions.

TL;DR: In this article, a water-in-oil emulsion of a hydrocarbon fuel, such as gasoline, diesel fuel, or fuel oil, was used to provide a clear composition which is stable against phase separation over a wide range of temperatures.
Abstract: A fuel composition, preferably for use in internal combustion engines, comprising a water-in-oil emulsion of (a) a hydrocarbon fuel, such as gasoline, diesel fuel or fuel oil; (b) water; (c) preferably a water-soluble alcohol; and (d) a novel combination of surface-active agents to provide a clear composition which is stable against phase separation over a wide range of temperatures.
