TL;DR: A graph wavelet transform-based steganography using graph signal processing (GSP) is presented, which results in better visual quality stego image as well as extracted secret image and simulation results show that the proposed scheme is more robust than other existing Steganography techniques.
Abstract: Steganography is used for secret or covert communication. A graph wavelet transform-based steganography using graph signal processing (GSP) is presented, which results in better visual quality stego image as well as extracted secret image. In the proposed scheme, graph wavelet transforms of both the cover image and transformed secret image (using Arnold cat map) are taken followed by alpha blending operation. The GSP-based inverse wavelet transform is performed on the resulting image, to get the stego image. Here, the use of GSP increases the inter-pixel correlation that results in better visual quality stego and extracted secret image as shown in simulation results. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme is more robust than other existing steganography techniques.

TL;DR: The proposed mapping method, which combines planar and hemispherical projection method, makes it possible to see around the vehicle at various viewpoints of 360-degree and may be useful for safe driving and accurate accident investigation.
Abstract: Most current vehicle black boxes with AVM (Around View Monitoring) function provide a bird's-eye view of 2D type. This viewpoint is a form of looking at the vehicle from above so that it gives the driver a sense of spatial heterogeneity. In addition, the top-view type has a limited viewing angle, which makes it difficult to conduct an accident investigation, parking and so on. To solve these problems, we propose the 3D A VM algorithm using image composition of multi-channel cameras in this paper. The proposed 3D AVM algorithm is divided into three stages. In the first stage, we perform distortion correction of wide-angle lens and perspective transform. The image stitching, white balance and alpha blending are made in the second stage. The 3D texture mapping is executed in the final stage. This proposed mapping method, which combines planar and hemispherical projection method, makes it possible to see around the vehicle at various viewpoints of 360-degree. The experimental study results indicate that the proposed method overcome the disadvantages of the 2D AVM black boxes and may be useful for safe driving and accurate accident investigation.

TL;DR: Experimental results reveal that the proposed remote sensing image fusion method is superior to the existing state-of-the-art methods.
Abstract: A remote sensing image fusion method based on the matting model is presented. The matting model refers to each band of the hyperspectral (HS) image that can be decomposed into three components, i.e., alpha channel, spectral foreground, and spectral background. First, the panchromatic (PAN) is sharpened to enhance the spatial details and the intensity component of the HS image is obtained by the nonlinear synthesis method. Different from the traditional matting model-based method in which the PAN image serves as the alpha channel, we subsequently transform the sharpened PAN image and the intensity component to the principal components analysis domain to obtain the first principal components channel. The first principal components channel is selected as the alpha channel of the HS image. The selected alpha channel contains most of the spatial information of both the PAN and HS images. Finally, the HS foreground and HS background are estimated by the alpha channel, and the fused HS image can be reconstructed perfectly. Experimental results reveal that the proposed method is superior to the existing state-of-the-art methods.

TL;DR: A novel image steganography algorithm based on alpha blending technique through Discrete Haar Wavelet Transform (ABT-DWT) is proposed that reaches a high level that satisfies all steganographic parameters comparing with similar previous results under the same domain.
Abstract: Steganography is the process of secret communication, it is the art of dissimulating information into digital mediums such as images. This discipline is still a thriving domain under information hiding and security field. In this paper, we propose a novel image steganography algorithm based on alpha blending technique through Discrete Haar Wavelet Transform (ABT-DWT). The hidden data is located in the most robust area under the frequency transform of the image. Intensive experiments are achieved in order to validate its efficiency by examining it with different kinds of images and four increased cases of capacity of hiding. Results indicate that the proposed algorithm reaches a high level that satisfies all steganographic parameters comparing with similar previous results under the same domain. The findings enhance the image steganography techniques and their performance.

TL;DR: In this research work, a new technique for invisible watermarking of images using alpha blending has been proposed and this can be used in image steganography also.
Abstract: Development of computer networking generates many benefits in cyber world. Due to this great advancement, nowadays networking facilities are available at very low cost. But unfortunately this easy access becomes a threat to information security. Watermarking is a technique that is very often used in image processing to trace copyrighted products. It can also be used to trace products which are illegally distributed without permission. In our research work, a new technique for invisible watermarking of images using alpha blending has been proposed. Alpha blending is used to display an alpha bitmap and an alpha bitmap is that one which has transparent and semi-transparent pixels. We have worked on color image and gray scale image. Gray scale image is used as watermark image which is kept hidden in the main scale image by different values of alpha in alpha blending method. This technique is actually done on each plane of the color image. The resulting image contains the information of color image and gray scale images but the main image is unseen to others. PSNR values are also calculated to check the robustness of the reconstructed image. Applying some post-processing work, this can be used in image steganography also.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the volumetric transparency method for rendering transparent objects that departs from classic alpha blending, and discuss per-pixel lists of surface fragments and evaluates illumination analytically between neighboring pairs.
Abstract: This chapter describes the volumetric transparency method for rendering transparent objects that departs from classic alpha blending. It discusses per-pixel lists of surface fragments and evaluates illumination analytically between neighboring pairs. The chapter discusses an algorithm for the case when the transparent objects are spheres. It suggests that executing a single iteration step of the intersection algorithm is sufficient to provide the required detail. The pixel shader traces linked lists reading fragments into a local array and sorts them according to their distance. The chapter shows how the approach can be extended to volumetric transparency, and even intersecting objects. Thus, volumetric transparency can be seen both as a relatively low-cost improvement to order-independent transparency and as a sophisticated approach to replace billboards in particle rendering. Thus, the method is geared at the most prevalent application of transparency: particle system rendering, where it avoids all popping and clipping artifacts characteristic of alpha-blended billboard clouds.

Abstract: In this paper, a novel hyperspectral (HS) image fusion method using matting model is presented. Matting model refers to each band of an HS image that can be decomposed into three components, i.e., alpha channel, spectral foreground, and spectral background. First, panchromatic (PAN) image is sharpened to enhance details, and the spatial information of each band of HS image is obtained by weighted least squares filtering. Different from traditional matting model based methods that PAN image is served as the alpha channel, we do the PCA transformation to PAN image and spatial information of each band to obtain the first principal component channel which is selected for the alpha channel. This processing reduces spatial distortion. Finally, HS foreground and HS background are estimated by the alpha channel, and the fused HS image is reconstructed nearly perfectly. Experiments reveal that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art methods.

TL;DR: This research paper proposes Sabiomha, an image forgery technique that make use of image steganography that can easily validate originality of a digital image by exposing any tampering.
Abstract: Digital images are a very popular way of transfer-ring media. However, their integrity remains challenging because these images can easily be manipulated with the help of software tools and such manipulations cannot be verified through a naked-eye. Although there exist some techniques to validate digital images, but in practice, it is not a trivial task as the existing approaches to forgery detection are not very effective. Therefore, there is need for a simple and efficient solution for the challenge. On the other hand, digital image steganography is the concealing of a message within an image file. The secret message can be retrieved afterwards by the author to check the image file for its veracity. This research paper proposes Sabiomha, an image forgery technique that make use of image steganography. The proposed technique is also supported by a software tool to demonstrate its usefulness. Sabiomha works by inserting an invisible watermark to certain alpha bits of the image file. The watermark we have used to steganograph an image is composed of a combination of text inputs the author can use to sign the image. Any attempts to tamper the image would distort the sequence of the bits of the image pixel. Hence, the proposed technique can easily validate originality of a digital image by exposing any tampering. The usability of our contribution is demonstrated by using the software tool we developed to automate the proposed technique. The experiment which we performed to further validate our technique suggested that Sabimoha could be flawlessly applied to image files.
