TL;DR: In this paper, a stream of images is acquired from a computer generated source or elsewhere. Elements of the images are assigned to different layers on a frame by frame basis and layering data is held in an associated alpha channel.
Abstract: A stream of images is acquired from a computer generated source or elsewhere. Elements of the images are assigned to different layers on a frame by frame basis and layering data is held in an associated alpha channel. The layers are then rendered and texture mapped onto a respective one of a plurality of meshes. A portion of the mapped data is selected by a virtual camera which is controlled by a user to move around and through the meshes. The selected data comprises data from one or more of the meshes and is displayed to a user.

TL;DR: An automatic system to integrate virtual objects into image sequences taken by a rotating and zooming camera is presented, which is very easy to handle, because no 3D modelling and animation tool is required for positioning of virtual objects in the 3D geometry of the observed scene.
Abstract: In this paper an automatic system to integrate virtual objects into image sequences taken by a rotating and zooming camera is presented. In this case of camera motion the observed static scene can be represented as a 2D panoramic mosaic image, which is estimated from the image sequence. Virtual objects can be positioned easily in the mosaic image with standard image editing software. The modifications made on the mosaic image are applied to all images of the sequence by the system. Occlusions of virtual objects by moving foreground objects of the real sequence are taken into account. In contrast to existing computer vision approaches the proposed system is very easy to handle, because no 3D modelling and animation tool is required for positioning of virtual objects in the 3D geometry of the observed scene. If moving foreground objects from the real sequence occlude virtual objects, usually the required image masks have to be generated manually. The presented system calculates these masks automatically.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method to shorten the processing time from photographing of a video image to displaying of the video image on display by using a car-mounted camera.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a processing time from photographing of a video image to displaying of the video image on display. SOLUTION: A receiver 20 receives an image frame signal photographed and encoded by a car-mounted camera 12 through wireless communication. A decoding portion 24 decodes the encoded image frame signal for output. When a pixel signal output from the decoding portion 24 is painted on a frame memory 28, a marker painting portion 26 outputs a pixel signal corresponding to display color data of a marker for notifying location information within the frame to a driver, instead of a pixel signal corresponding to a predetermined coordinate within the image frame. The marker painting portion 26 may synthesize and a pixel output from the decoding portion 24 with a pixel corresponding to the display color data of the marker for output, using alpha blending. TL;DR: In this article, a panorama image splicing method based on multichannel image fusion is proposed, which comprises steps of (a) obtaining multiple paths of RGB three-channel images through a splicing type panorama camera, (b) adding an Alpha channel for each path of RGB 3-channel image, and (c) performing image fusion on the multiple path of RGBA four channel images through computer graphics method to realize globe panorama splicing.
Abstract: The invention discloses a panorama image splicing method based on multichannel image fusion. The panorama image splicing method comprises steps of (a) obtaining multiple paths of RGB three-channel images through a splicing type panorama camera, (b) adding an Alpha channel for each path of RGB three-channel image to obtain multiple paths of RGBA four channel images, and (c) performing image fusion on the multiple paths of RGBA four channel images through a computer graphics method to realize globe panorama splicing.

TL;DR: In this article, a system for blending of a plurality of source images into a single destination image is described, including a memory device, cache, cache controller, and a graphics processing device.
Abstract: A system for blending is disclosed including a memory device, cache, cache controller, and a graphics processing device. The graphics processing device performs blending of a plurality of source images into a single destination image. The graphics processing device performs a method including, for each tile position in the plurality of source images, requesting tiles for the tile position form each source image, blending the tiles individually with a destination tile and overwriting the destination tile in the cache with the result of the blending after each individual blending. The destination tile may be written to memory after each source tile for the each tile position has been blended with the destination tile, such as in response to a cache controller determining that the destination tile is a least recently used (LRU) entry in the cache.
