TL;DR: A novel method to blend the moving objects in the related background mosaic based on an adaptive alpha blending method based on relative speed and scale parameters of moving objects is presented.
Abstract: Various video applications such as mosaicing and object insertion require blending of image regions. The blending quality is often measured subjectively by considering the similarity of the blended image to each of the input images and the visibility of the seams among stitched regions. This paper presents a novel method to blend the moving objects in the related background mosaic based on an adaptive alpha blending method. In order to compute the best possible value for the alpha blending coefficient in dynamic mosaic updating, here we propose a fuzzy method based on relative speed and scale parameters of moving objects. Conducted experiments show that the proposed method improves the quality of alpha blending method for real-time applications.

TL;DR: In this paper, an image composite apparatus and method for preventing an altered color caused at image boundaries in the case of performing alpha blending and image magnification/reduction was provided. But, the method was not suitable for the high priority image data.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image composite apparatus and method for preventing an altered color caused at image boundaries in the case of performing alpha blending and image magnification/reduction. SOLUTION: After an alpha value arithmetic section 24 multiplies an opacity αvalue with one of image data with high priority, an image magnification/ reduction section 22 applies magnification/reduction to the image data. An image magnification/reduction section 23 applies magnification/reduction to the other image data. An alpha blending composite section 21 sums the other image data subjected to magnification/reduction by multiplication of a (1-α) value and the one image data subjected to magnification/reduction by multiplication of the alpha value. Multiplying the opacity α value with the one image data with high priority can respectively apply magnification/reduction processing to the one and other images and prevent occurrence of an altered color around the image boundaries. Abstract: The invention discloses an image fusion method based on an Alpha channel bitmap technology. More particularly, the invention, which belongs to the image processing technology field, discloses a multi-mode medial image fusion method based on an Alpha channel bitmap technology. The method comprises the following steps that: (1), source images that need to be fused are input; (2), a weight K is obtained; (3), color stretching is carried out on the source images; (4), s bitmap coding method is utilized to carry out processing on the stretched images as well as a pseudo color disk is loaded; and (5), an Alpha channel is used to carry out weight fusion so as to generate an image after the fusion. According to the invention, improvement that is aiming at two traditional fusion methods is carried out; it can be ensured that an image is clear and meanwhile, a pseudo color disk can be rapidly loaded, so that it is convenient to adjust weights of two parties of fusion. Moreover, the method is simple and can be used conveniently and flexibly as well as is suitable for rapid adjustment and display in clinic practice.

TL;DR: A novel hyperspectral (HS) image fusion method using matting model is presented, and experiments reveal that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art methods.
Abstract: In this paper, a novel hyperspectral (HS) image fusion method using matting model is presented. Matting model refers to each band of an HS image that can be decomposed into three components, i.e., alpha channel, spectral foreground, and spectral background. First, panchromatic (PAN) image is sharpened to enhance details, and the spatial information of each band of HS image is obtained by weighted least squares filtering. Different from traditional matting model based methods that PAN image is served as the alpha channel, we do the PCA transformation to PAN image and spatial information of each band to obtain the first principal component channel which is selected for the alpha channel. This processing reduces spatial distortion. Finally, HS foreground and HS background are estimated by the alpha channel, and the fused HS image is reconstructed nearly perfectly. Experiments reveal that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art methods.

TL;DR: This research presents a method to assess the originality of the images produced by a digital image-editing system, using a computer program called “spotspot” to evaluate the quality of the resulting images.
Abstract: Digital images nowadays have become a very popular way to transfer media. However, their security remains very challenging for at least two reasons; first, images can be easily tampered with the help of software tools; second, originality of the tampered images cannot be verified through a naked-eye.
