TL;DR: With the exception of possible metabolic effects occurring on a long term basis, Mg(OH)2 in association with magnesium-free dialysate seems of value to treat dialysis hyperphosphatemia.
Abstract: The control of hyperphosphatemia in dialysis patients is frequently achieved using aluminium hydroxide (A1(OH)3) and/or calcium carbonate (Ca CO3). However, this effect is counterbalanced by risk of aluminium intoxication and hypercalcemia. An alternative to the use of these phosphate binders is the prescription of magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) in association with a magnesium free dialysate. 19 patients with subtoxic plasma aluminium concentration received such a therapy. 9 months after starting the essay 4 patients had been excluded for digestive intolerance (3 cases) and neuro-psychic symptoms related to hypermagnesemia (1 case) after therapy with maximal doses of 6 to 12 g/d. Plasma inorganic phosphorus was decreased from 2.47 +/- 0.32 to 1.86 +/- 0.40 mmol/l (P less than 0.05) and plasma aluminium from 3.03 +/- 0.93 to 1.52 +/- 0.15 mumol/l (P less than 0.05). The results have been obtained without any significant increase in plasma and red cell magnesium levels. Metabolic alkalosis has been observed in association with the increase of ion exchange resin (sodium polystyrene sulfonate: Kayexalate) to treat progressive hyperkalemia. With the exception of possible metabolic effects occurring on a long term basis, Mg(OH)2 in association with magnesium-free dialysate seems of value to treat dialysis hyperphosphatemia.

TL;DR: In this paper, a modified nano aluminium hydroxide water expansion type overcoating fire retardant paint and a preparation method thereof is described. But the preparation method is not described.
Abstract: The invention discloses a modified nano aluminium hydroxide water expansion type overcoating fire retardant paint and a preparation method thereof. The paint is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by weight: 22%-28% of organic silicon modified styrene-acrylate emulsion, 13%-17% of mixture of anatase type titanium dioxide and modified nano aluminium hydroxide powder, 16%-19% ofammonium polyphosphate, 8%-13% of tripolycyanamide, 5%-9% of pentaerythritol, 3%-7% of auxiliary and 21%-27% of water; and the modified nano aluminium hydroxide is prepared from the raw materials in parts by weight: 60-85 parts of nano aluminium hydroxide powder, 0.8-2.5 parts of sodium hexametaphosphate powder and 18-24 parts of water. The paint is a water system having obvious inflaming retarding effect, high fireproof performance, good brushing resistance, weather resistance and smearing hardness and low fuming amount, and has the beneficial effects of simple production process, good dispersing effect, low cost, stable quality and long service life, and is energy-saving and environment-friendly.

TL;DR: In this article, a numerical measure of dispersion quality, i.e., the width (D0-D4) of the multifractal spectrum, was determined for a series of composites that formed a quadratic algorithm screening experimental design.
Abstract: Backscattered electron scanning electron microscope (SEM) imaging of the distribution of metal hydroxide filler particles in cryo‐cut surfaces of poly(ethylene‐ran‐vinyl acetate)/metal hydroxide composites followed by multifractal analysis of the images has led to a numerical measure of dispersion quality, i.e. the width (D0–D4) of the multifractal spectrum. The D0–D4 values were then determined for a series of composites that formed a quadratic algorithm screening experimental design where the following four factors: type of filler (magnesium hydroxide or aluminium hydroxide), filler loading (30% w/w–60% w/w), vinyl acetate content (20% w/w and 28% w/w), and isostearic acid coating of the filler, were investigated. Two multiple regression models were constructed to examine the dependence of tensile strength and elongation at break on dispersion quality and composite formulation. Predictions of tensile strength and elongation at break were forecast and the results compared with experimentally measured dat...

TL;DR: An environment protection type fire-proof insulating nano-class mineral material is prepared from elastomer, fire-retarding oil, mica, magnesium hydroxide, SiO2, aluminium hydroxides, pottery clay, kaolin, talc powder, nano-diatomite or nano-titatium oxide, disperser, lubricant and antioxidizing agent as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: An environment protection type fire-proof insulating nano-class mineral material is prepared from elastomer, fire-retarding oil, mica, magnesium hydroxide, SiO2, aluminium hydroxide, pottery clay, kaolin, talc powder, nano-diatomite or nano-titatium oxide, disperser, lubricant and antioxidizing agent. Its advantages are high electric insulation in wide temp range (-40-1200 deg.C), high fire-proofing power (800-1200 deg.C), no poison, low smoke and low cost.
