TL;DR: In this article, a seismic directional sensor for solid-borne sound has at least one geophone with pronounced directional characteristic, which is correlated with the direction of a seismic ray extending at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the geophone.
Abstract: A seismic directional sensor for solid-borne sound has at least one geophone with pronounced directional characteristic. The measuring electrical vibration signals, which are obtained at different circumferential angular positions of the radial longitudinal axis of the geophone and are to be compared with one another, are correlated with the direction of a seismic ray extending at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the geophone, which is ineffective in its neural circumferential angular position. The neutral circumferential angular position is determined by the ratio of the amplitude of the measuring signals which are determined on both sides adjacent to the neutral circumferential angular position in effective circumferential angular positions of the geophone. The vibration pattern of the measuring signals is antiphase in relation to the respective other side. The seismic directional sensor permits universal application with accurate measurement results along with relatively simple design and easy operation.

TL;DR: In this paper, a belt drive control device is constructed to sense the angular displacement or angular velocity of a driven roller, separating from the angular velocity sensed an AC component having a frequency that corresponds to the periodic thickness variation of an endless belt in the circumferential direction.
Abstract: A belt drive control device of the present invention is constructed to sense the angular displacement or the angular velocity of a driven roller, separates from the angular displacement or the angular velocity sensed an AC component having a frequency that corresponds to the periodic thickness variation of an endless belt in the circumferential direction, and then controls the rotation of a drive roller in accordance with the amplitude and phase of the AC component.

TL;DR: In this article, a drilling machine is provided with a quill feed device, a driving member and a driven member, disposed between a spindle rotatably supported by the quill and a driving source therefor in such a manner as to produce a relative angular displacement there between according to magnitude of a load applied on a tool held by the spindle.
Abstract: A drilling machine is provided with a quill feed device for reciprocating a quill, a driving member and a driven member, disposed between a spindle rotatably supported by the quill and a driving source therefor in such a manner as to produce a relative angular displacement therebetween according to magnitude of a load applied on a tool held by the spindle, a detector generating a series of pulse signals correlated to the relative angular displacement between both members, a counter numerically counting the pulse signals generated from the detector in respect of one rotation of the spindle, a memory memorizing numerical data, corresponding to the relative angular displacement while the tool being separated from a workpiece, counted by the counter device, and a comparator for comparing the value memorized in the memory and an actual counted value in the counter. The quill is, in the event the actual counted becomes larger than the memorized value by a predetermined limit, returned backwards once before being re-advanced.

TL;DR: In this paper, a motion transfer mechanism for transferring reciprocal motion to rotary motion comprises at least one driving member having front and rear end portions terminating, respectively, in front-and rear ends and mounted to undergo reciprocal motion about a first axis located closer to the rear end than the front end of the driving member.
Abstract: A motion transfer mechanism for transferring reciprocal motion to rotary motion comprises at least one driving member having front and rear end portions terminating, respectively, in front and rear ends and mounted to undergo reciprocal motion about a first axis located closer to the rear end than the front end of the driving member. At least one rotary member is mounted to undergo angular displacement about a second axis. An interconnecting member connects the driving member to the rotary member, such that reciprocal motion of the driving member effects angular displacement of the rotary member about the second axis. At least one driven member is mounted to undergo rotary motion in one direction of rotation about the second axis. A transfer device drivingly connects the rotary member to the driven member for transferring angular displacement of the rotary member to rotary motion of the driven member in the one direction of rotation. In this manner, the reciprocal motion of the driving member about the first axis is effectively transferred to rotary motion of the driven member in the one direction of rotation without requiring the application of a substantial force.
