TL;DR: Solan as discussed by the authors found that both reflexives and pronouns are likely to end up bound in their governing categories, a situation that accords with Principle A of the Binding Theory (an anaphor is bound in its governing category), but that runs counter to Principle B (a pronominal is free in its controlling category).
Abstract: Experimental results are presented in Solan’s paper which demonstrate that there is a contrast between children’s interpretation of reflexives and pronouns and the interpretations that are assigned to these elements in the adult grammar. In brief summary, Solan found that both reflexives and pronouns are likely to end up bound in their governing categories — a situation what accords with Principle A of the Binding Theory (an anaphor is bound in its governing category), but that runs counter to Principle B (a pronominal is free in its governing category). In addition, Solan’s data also show violations of Principle A of the Binding Theory (anaphors were construed with an antecedent external to their governing category); these latter violations occurred more frequently in infinitival than in indicative clauses.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the historical antecedent and functions of the Anatolian Sisters Organization (Baciyan-i Rum) and provided an extensive and detailed understanding of such remarkable phenomenal women organization that existed in the Islamic world of the Medieval Era in Anatolia, Turkey.
Abstract: Baciyan-i Rum (Anatolian Sisters Organization) is known as the world's first women's organization in history, but very few pieces of literature exist about this medieval organization. Thus, the aim was to reach up to all available historical documents about the topic and systematically analyze the nature and function of such an organization in the medieval era. Preliminary findings show that no written documents existed in English nor other languages except the Turkish language. It was also observed that this topic has emerged as an exciting area for many disciplines in recent times, leading to a sudden development of recent write-ups on such a topic. Therefore, this paper aims to introduce and explore the historical antecedent and functions of Baciyan-i Rum Organization to readers and other professionals interested in history, ethics, women, and gender studies. Kinds of literature were reviewed across history, economics, politics, travelogues, art, sociology, and anthropology to provide an extensive and detailed understanding of such a remarkable phenomenal women organization that existed in the Islamic world of the Medieval Era in Anatolia, Turkey.

TL;DR: In this paper, a meta-analysis of antecedents and consequences of materialistic behavior among children and adolescents is presented, showing that life satisfaction held a negative relation with materialistic behaviour.
Abstract: This paper proposes a meta-analysis of antecedents and consequences of materialistic behavior among children and adolescents. We detected 42 studies, selected from five databases, which generated 53 effect sizes involving an aggregate sample of 9,283 children and adolescents. We proposed a theoretical model based on four antecedents, four consequents and three moderating variables. The results showed a direct and significant relation between materialistic behavior by children and adolescents in most of the antecedent and consequent variables. Furthermore, we found that life satisfaction held a negative relation with materialistic behavior. As for the moderating effects, we confirmed that survey location has a significant influence on effect sizes. Regarding the moderating effect of the sample size and country of application, they do not exert influence on the effect size. In addition to its outcomes, this meta-analysis offers a remarkable theoretical contribution, which provides a consistent theoretical review that resulted in the quantitative integration of the main constructs associated with the antecedents and consequents of materialistic behavior in children and adolescents.

TL;DR: This article found that an information-oriented identity style, commitment to an identity style and religiosity were positively related to adolescents' ability to articulate their religious beliefs. But they did not find that information-and normative-oriented identities were not related to their ability to express their religious belief.
Abstract: Adolescents often struggle with articulating their religious beliefs. This study proposes that identity style may explain why some adolescents have difficulty articulating their religious beliefs. A hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to predict adolescents’ ability to articulate their religious beliefs. It was found that an information-oriented identity style, commitment to an identity style, and religiosity were positively related to adolescents’ ability to articulate their religious beliefs. Diffuseand normative-oriented identity styles were not related to adolescents’ ability to articulate their religious beliefs.

TL;DR: This article study the anaphoric process of pronominal anaphora cases, trying to understand how this process works in the human mind and shows that there are other factors that are important when the authors connect theAnaphoric term to its antecedent in an anaphic relation.
Abstract: There are many factors that are important in the process of constructing the meaning in a text. A very important cohesive factor is the anaphoric process, that is responsible for pointing, linking and retrieving information in a text. An anaphora links old information to new information in a text. In this article, we will study the anaphoric process of pronominal anaphora cases, trying to understand how this process works in the human mind. Based on a test applied to thirty Portuguese native speakers, we were able to verify whether the anaphoric process is processed on-line, linking the anaphoric term to its nearest possible antecedent, or whether it is processed linking the anaphoric term to the topic of the sentence. In the final part of the article, we show that there are other factors that are important when we connect the anaphoric term to its antecedent in an anaphoric relation.
