TL;DR: A scanning electron diffractometer used for the study of the antimony-caesium photocathode series is described in this article, which yields continuous structural and photoelectric information on a particular cathode with no necessity for removal from the preparation vessel.
Abstract: The paper discusses the design of a scanning electron diffractometer used for the study of the antimony-caesium photocathode series. The photocathode is prepared and examined in an ultra-high vacuum enclosure within the main diffractometer body. The instrument yields continuous structural and photoelectric information on a particular cathode with no necessity for removal from the preparation vessel. Preliminary results on Sb-Cs cathodes are given.

TL;DR: In this article, the Cs3Sb photocathode was formed by non-vacuum process technology and the electrical properties of the device were characterized by measuring the anode current as a function of device operation times with respect to applied anode voltages.
Abstract: The Cs3Sb photocathode was formed by non-vacuum process technology. An in-situ vacuum device was fabricated successively with flat cesium antimonide photocathode emitters fabricated in a process chamber. The electrical properties of the device were characterized. Electron emission from the devices was induced by photoemitted electrons, which were accelerated by an anode electric field that was shielded from the photoemitter surface. The electrical characteristics of the devices were investigated by measuring the anode current as a function of device operation times with respect to applied anode voltages. Planar blue LED light with a 450 nm wavelength was used as an excitation source. The results showed that the cesium antimonide photocathode emitter has the potential of long lifetime with stable electron emission characteristics in panel devices. These features demonstrate that the cesium antimony photocathodes produced by non-vacuum processing technology is suitable for flat cathodes in panel device applications.

TL;DR: In this paper , a method of photoemissive film growth that controls stoichiometry in real-time was reported, using a feedback loop, on Cs3Sb.
Abstract: We report on a method of photoemissive film growth that controls stoichiometry in real time. We show that stoichiometry control using a feedback loop is possible because (a) photoemissive properties exhibit a distinct dependence on the stoichiometric composition and (b) stoichiometric composition strongly depends on the ratio of the incident fluxes. The reported results were obtained on Cs3Sb but are expected to be relevant to other alkali antimonides and tellurides.

TL;DR: In this paper, a semiconductor laser structure with confinement layers to confine electrons to an active region (quantum wells) and having separate antimonide-based cladding layers to provide additional electron confinement and photon confinement is suited to high temperature operation.
Abstract: A semiconductor laser structure having confinement layers to confine electrons to an active region (quantum wells) and having separate antimonide-based cladding layers to provide additional electron confinement and photon confinement is suited to high temperature operation. The structure is suitable for lasing across telecommunications wavelengths from 980 nm to 1.55 µm (microns) . The cladding layer uses AlAsSb which can be lattice-matched to InP and can be used to achieve large conduction band offsets. It is very useful for coolerless (without thermo-electric cooler) operation.

TL;DR: In this paper, an additional antimony layer on top of a potassium antimonide photocathode and admitting caesium at 150°C was added to improve the sensitivity to tungsten light.
Abstract: Potassium-antimony-caesium photocathodes having integral sensitivities to tungsten light of 50-75 μA lm−1 may be prepared by evaporating an additional antimony layer on top of a potassium antimonide photocathode and admitting caesium at 150°C.
