TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that USp(2n) supersymmetric models with eight fundamental fields and a field in the antisymmetric representation are connected by a large network of dualities which can be organized into orbits of the Weyl group of E_8.
Abstract: We discuss USp(2n) supersymmetric models with eight fundamental fields and a field in the antisymmetric representation. Turning on the most generic superpotentials, coupling pairs of fundamental fields to powers of the antisymmetric field while preserving an R symmetry, we give evidence for the statement that the models are connected by a large network of dualities which can be organized into orbits of the Weyl group of E_8. We make also several curious observations about such models. In particular, we argue that a USp(2m) model with the addition of singlet fields and even rank m flows in the IR to a CFT with E_7 U(1) symmetry. We also discuss an infinite number of duals for the USp(2) theory with eight fundamentals and no superpotential.

TL;DR: Derivatives of SAFE eigenvalues and eigenvectors show the source of mode repulsion and the modes within symmetric or antisymmetric families can be numbered in the same way Lamb waves in plates are numbered, making it easier to communicate results.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered a gravitational model on a manifold M = M 0 x M 1 x M n with oriented connected Einstein internal spaces M_1,...,M n.
Abstract: We consider a gravitational model on a manifold M = M_0 x M_1 x...x M_n with oriented connected Einstein internal spaces M_1,...,M_n. The matter part of the action contains several scalar fields and antisymmetric forms. With Ricci-flat internal spaces, the model has a midisuperspace representation in form of a sigma-model on M_0. The latter can be used to determine exact composite electric p-brane solutions, which depend on a set of harmonic functions on M_0.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the dynamics of symmetric and antisymmetric 2-solitons in the model of the dual-core coupler and its -symmetric version.
Abstract: Dynamics of symmetric and antisymmetric 2-solitons and 3-solitons is studied in the model of the nonlinear dual-core coupler and its -symmetric version. Regions of the convergence of the injected perturbed symmetric and antisymmetric N-solitons into symmetric and asymmetric quasi-solitons are found. In the -symmetric system, with the balanced gain and loss acting in the two cores, borders of the stability against the blowup are identified. Notably, in all the cases the stability regions are larger for antisymmetric 2-soliton inputs than for their symmetric counterparts, on the contrary to previously known results for fundamental solitons (N = 1). Dynamical regimes (switching) are also studied for the 2-soliton injected into a single core of the coupler. In particular, a region of splitting of the input into a pair of symmetric solitons is found, which is explained as a manifestation of the resonance between the vibrations of the 2-soliton and oscillations of energy between the two cores in the coupler.

TL;DR: In this paper, the dispersion and energy dissipation of thermoelastic plane harmonic waves in a thin plate bounded by insulated traction-free surfaces is studied on the basis of three generalized theories of thermelasticity.
Abstract: In this paper, the dispersion and energy dissipation of thermoelastic plane harmonic waves in a thin plate bounded by insulated traction-free surfaces is studied on the basis of three generalized theories of thermoelasticity. The frequency equations corresponding to the symmetric and antisymmetric modes of vibration of the plate are obtained. Some limiting and particular cases of the frequency equations are then discussed. Results obtained in three theories of generalized thermoelasticity are compared. The results for the coupled thermoelasticity can be obtained as particular cases of the results by setting thermal relaxations times equal to zero. Numerical evaluations relating to the lower modes of the symmetric and antisymmetric waves are presented for an aluminum alloy plate.
