TL;DR: It is shown that only the antisymmetric coupling mechanism is operational in the case of acoustic vibrations, and when the quantum nature of the phonons can be neglected, the effect of electron-phonon interactions with acoustic phonons is found to be equivalent to that of theelectrolysis with optical phonons.
Abstract: We discuss, in the context of a tight-binding description, how the electronic and charge-transport properties in single crystals of molecular organic semiconductors are affected by the nonlocal electron-phonon coupling to both acoustic and optical lattice vibrations. While the nonlocal electron-phonon interactions can in general be divided into contributions from symmetric modes and antisymmetric modes, we show that only the antisymmetric coupling mechanism is operational in the case of acoustic vibrations. Interestingly, when the quantum nature of the phonons can be neglected, the effect of electron-phonon interactions with acoustic phonons is found to be equivalent to that of the electron-phonon interactions with optical phonons, in the case where contributions from symmetric and antisymmetric modes are equal.

TL;DR: In this paper, the angular part of the energy of solutions to elliptic linear systems of Schrodinger type with antisymmetric potentials in two dimensions is quantized, which is a consequence of uniform Lorentz-Wente type estimates in degenerating annuli.
Abstract: We establish a quantization result for the angular part of the energy of solutions to elliptic linear systems of Schrodinger type with antisymmetric potentials in two dimensions. This quantization is a consequence of uniform Lorentz‐Wente type estimates in degenerating annuli. Moreover this result is optimal in the sense that we exhibit a sequence of functions satisfying our hypothesis whose radial part of the energy is not quantized. We derive from this angular quantization the full energy quantization for general critical points to functionals which are conformally invariant or also for pseudoholomorphic curves on degenerating Riemann surfaces.

TL;DR: A relation connecting the reflexion and transmission coefficients for scattering of water waves by a fixed body with the far-field radiated waves due to forced motions of the same body is derived in this article.
Abstract: A relation connecting the reflexion and transmission coefficients for scattering of water waves by a fixed body with the far-field radiated waves due to forced motions of the same body is derived Two alternative derivations are given, including a simple argument based on the analysis of an appropriate linear superposition of the two problems, and a more formal application of Green's theorem to the two potentials For bodies with horizontal symmetry, the transmission and reflexion coefficients are related to the phase angles of the far-field radiated waves associated with symmetric and antisymmetric forced motions of the body Some general conclusions follow for arbitrary symmetric bodies, and these are verified in specific cases by comparison with existing solutions The applicability of these relations to other types of wave problem is noted

TL;DR: A novel optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM) based on a null coupler with an antisymmetric grating was designed and experimentally demonstrated that improves the performance compared with previous demonstrations that used tilted Bragg gratings.
Abstract: A novel optical add-drop multiplexer (OADM) based on a null coupler with an antisymmetric grating was designed and experimentally demonstrated. The antisymmetric grating exclusively produces a reflection with mode conversion in a two-mode waveguide. This improves the performance compared with previous demonstrations that used tilted Bragg gratings. Our design minimizes noise and cross talk produced by reflection without mode conversion. In addition, operational bandwidth and, versatility are improved while the compactness and simplicity of the null coupler OADM are maintained.
