TL;DR: In this paper, a method, an apparatus and a computer program product are disclosed for providing a lockeddown client environment in a client-server architecture of a computer network, where an asset database is checked via the computer network to validate settings for configuration of the personal computer.
Abstract: A method, an apparatus and a computer program product are disclosed for providing a lockeddown client environment in a client-server architecture of a computer network. In the method, an asset database is checked via the computer network to validate settings for configuration of the personal computer. The personal computer is booted using a personalized network boot disk for a user. The asset database contains information about the configuration of one or more personal computers. If the settings are validated, a lockeddown environment is built for the personal computer. The operating system and hardware drivers installed on the personal computer are dependent upon the asset database. The operating system prevents unauthorised modification and bypassing of the operating system. Preconfigured application software is installed on the personal computer dependent upon the asset database. User data can only be stored remotely at a server via the computer network.

TL;DR: A custom MacOS-based application, adam, for analysis of data collected by a three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP), designed to carry out a common set of analysis tasks, to be customizable, to provide easy export and import of data, and to be simple enough for novice users to understand quickly.
Abstract: We present a custom MacOS-based application, adam , for analysis of data collected by a three-dimensional atom probe (3DAP). The application is designed to carry out a common set of analysis tasks, to be customizable, to provide easy export and import of data, and to be simple enough for novice users to understand quickly. The integration of both graphical (GUI) and scripting (SUI) user interfaces and the functionality accessible from both is discussed. Different types of visualization can be used for best presentation of 3DAP data.

TL;DR: Design mechanisms that not only protect sensitive data with encrypted data, but also protect customers from malicious behaviors by enabling the validation of the computation result.
Abstract: Cloud computing has gained a lot of publicity in the current IT world. After the internet, Cloud computing is the next big thing in the computer world. Cloud computing is the use of the Internet for the tasks performed on the computer and it is the next- generation architecture of IT Industry. Cloud computing is related to different technologies and the convergence of various technologies has emerged to be called cloud computing. Cloud Computing moves the application software and databases to the large data centers, where the management of the data and services may not be fully trustworthy. This design mechanisms that not only protect sensitive data with encrypted data, but also protect customers from malicious behaviors by enabling the validation of the computation result.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an algorithm for run-time allocation of hardware resources to software applications for streaming applications on heterogeneous MPSoCs, where the sub-problem of running-time spatial mapping is defined.
Abstract: In this paper, we present an algorithm for run-time allocation of hardware resources to software applications. We define the sub-problem of run-time spatial mapping and demonstrate our concept for streaming applications on heterogeneous MPSoCs. The underlying algorithm and the methods used therein are implemented and their use is demonstrated with an illustrative example.

TL;DR: This paper describes where software and hardware have combined to enable ubiquitous computing, where these systems have limitations and where the biggest challenges still remain.
Abstract: The terms Ubiquitous and Pervasive computing were first coined at the beginning of the 90's, by Xerox PARC and IBM respectively, and capture the realization that the computing focus was going to change from the PC to a more distributed, mobile and embedded form of computing. Furthermore, it was predicted by some researchers that the true value of embedded computing would come from the orchestration of the various computational components into a much richer and adaptable system than had previously been possible. Now some fifteen years later, we have made progress towards these aims. The Hardware platforms used to implement these systems encapsulate significant computation capability in a small form-factor, consume little power and have a small cost. However, the system software capabilities have not advanced at a pace that can take full advantage of this infrastructure. This paper will describe where software and hardware have combined to enable ubiquitous computing, where these systems have limitations and where the biggest challenges still remain.
