Abstract: Traditionally genetic engineering is understood as a molecular biology discipline. The tools used in molecular biology are specific, mostly used by people who come from biological or medical background, which made the discipline distant from classical Computer Science. In this paper we would like to address computer science auditorium and point out the importance of understanding genetic engineering.
