TL;DR: Model Driven Architecture is a way to organize and manage enterprise architectures supported by automated tools and services for both defining the models and facilitating transformations between different model types.
Abstract: on Model Driven Architecture (MDA) 1 as an approach to application design and implementation. This is a very positive development for several reasons. MDA encourages efficient use of system models in the software development process, and it supports reuse of best practices when creating families of systems. As defined by the Object Management Group (OMG), MDA is a way to organize and manage enterprise architectures supported by automated tools and services for both defining the models and facilitating transformations between different model types.

TL;DR: This essay is a speculation of the impact of the next generation technological platform — the internetwork computing architecture (InterNCA) — on systems development and some suggestions for where the information systems research community should focus its efforts are proposed.
Abstract: This essay is a speculation of the impact of the next generation technological platform — the internetwork computing architecture (InterNCA) — on systems development. The impact will be deep and pervasive and more substantial than when computing migrated from closed computer rooms to ubiquitous personal computers and flexible client-server solutions. Initially, by drawing upon the notion of a technological frame, the InterNCA, and how it differs from earlier technological frames, is examined. Thereafter, a number of hypotheses are postulated with regard to how the architecture will affect systems development content, scope, organization and processes. Finally, some suggestions for where the information systems research community should focus its efforts (if the call for relevance is not to be taken lightly) are proposed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of Ottoman architecture is presented with a focus on the effects of conquests, religions and social organization, making reference to Byzantine, Persian and Selcuk examples.
Abstract: This survey of Ottoman architecture treats the subject chronologically and within its historical perspective, making reference to Byzantine, Persian and Selcuk examples. There is a discussion of the effects of conquests, religions and social organization, and alongside the descriptions of mosques are studies of the layout and function of the buildings which came to be grouped around the mosques - schools, baths, hostels, kitchens, fountains, mausolea, and shops. Seeking to appeal to those interested in Islamic art as well as architectural history, buildings are described with a minimum of technical terminology. A glossary of Turkish words is provided and there is a chronological table listing Ottoman rulers and historical events.

TL;DR: This chapter reviews the substantial changes in use cases that drive cognitive wireless architecture and develops five complementary perspectives of cognitive radio architecture, called CRA-I through CRA-V, each building on the previous in capability.
Abstract: This chapter develops five complementary perspectives of cognitive radio architecture (CRA), called CRA-I through CRA-V, each building on the previous in capability. Architecture is driven top-down by market needs and bottom-up by available, affordable technologies. Taking the top-down perspective requires some attention to the use cases that the functions are intended to realize. This chapter therefore reviews the substantial changes in use cases that drive cognitive wireless architecture. Often technical architectures of the kind accelerate the state of practice by catalyzing work across the industry on plug-and-play, teaming, and collaboration. The thought is that to propel wireless technology from limited spectrum awareness toward valuable user awareness, an architecture is needed. The CRA articulates the functions, components, and design rules of next-generation stand-alone and embedded wireless devices and networks.
