TL;DR: In this paper, a method of monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from the oil feedstock having a 10 volume % distillation temperature of more than or equal to 140°C.
Abstract: A producing method of monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from the oil feedstock having a 10 volume % distillation temperature of more than or equal to 140° C. and a 90 volume % distillation temperature of less than or equal to 380° C. by bringing into contact with an aromatic production catalyst includes the steps of: introducing the oil feedstock into a cracking and reforming reaction apparatus housing the aromatic production catalyst; bringing the oil feedstock and the aromatic production catalyst into contact with each other at the inside of the cracking and reforming reaction apparatus; heating the oil feedstock in advance before introducing the oil feedstock into the cracking and reforming reaction apparatus and forming a two-phase gas-liquid stream; separating the two-phase gas-liquid stream into a gas fraction and a liquid fraction; and introducing the gas fraction and the liquid fraction at different positions of the cracking and reforming reaction apparatus.

TL;DR: A pre-formed complex of an ionic liquid and an aromatic hydrocarbon can be used in the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons with olefins such as alkylated benzene with ethylene.
Abstract: A catalyst comprising a pre-formed complex of an ionic liquid and an aromatic hydrocarbon. The ionic liquid comprises: (a) a first component of the formula RnMX3-n wherein R is a C1-C6 alkyl group, M is aluminium or gallium, X is a halogen atom and n is 0, 1 or 2; and (b) a second component selected from the group consisting of an alkyl ammonium halide, an imidazolium halide, a pyridinium halide, a hydrocarbyl substituted quaternay ammonium halide, a hydrocarbyl substituted quaternary phosphonium halide and mixtures thereof. The catalyst may be used in the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons with olefins such as the alkylation of benzene with ethylene. The use of such a pre-formed catalyst complex enables an increased rate of conversion of feedstock to be achieved.

TL;DR: In this article, a process of upgrading a highly aromatic hydrocarbon feedstream is described, wherein a major portion of the feedstream has a boiling range of from about 300°F to about 800°F, under catalytic conditions with a catalyst system, containing a hydrotreating catalyst and a hydrogenation/hydrocracking catalyst in a single stage reactor system.
Abstract: A process of upgrading a highly aromatic hydrocarbon feedstream comprising (a) contacting a highly aromatic hydrocarbon feedstream, wherein a major portion of the feedstream has a boiling range of from about 300°F to about 800°F, under catalytic conditions with a catalyst system, containing a hydrotreating catalyst and a hydrogenation/hydrocracking catalyst in a single stage reactor system, wherein the active metals in the hydrogenation/hydrocracking catalyst comprises from about 5%-30% by weight of nickel and from about 5%-30% by weight tungsten; and (b) wherein at least a portion of said highly aromatic hydrocarbon feedstream is converted to a product stream having a boiling range within jet or diesel boiling ranges.

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel method of making bisphosphonic acids, e.g. risedronic acid, including the step of combining a carboxylic acid, phoshorous acid, and a halophosphorous compound in the presence of a diluent that is an aromatic hydrocarbon or a silicone fluid, is presented.
Abstract: Provided is a novel method of making bisphosphonic acids, e.g. risedronic acid, including the step of combining a carboxylic acid, phoshorous acid, and a halophosphorous compound in the presence of a diluent that is an aromatic hydrocarbon or a silicone fluid. When the diluent is an aromatic hydrocarbon, a inert support or ortho-phosphoric acid codiluent is advantageously included.
