TL;DR: In this article, a manufacturing method of waterproof asphalt concrete additive is described, which consists of: heating a basic additive which is obtained by selecting two or more among silica sand, rubber powder, and calcium carbonate having a diameter less than or equal to 0.67 mm, and by mixing the same.
Abstract: Disclosed are a waterproof asphalt concrete additive, a manufacturing method thereof, waterproof asphalt concrete, a manufacturing method thereof, and a waterproof asphalt concrete construction method. The manufacturing method of waterproof asphalt concrete additive comprises the following steps of: heating a basic additive which is obtained by selecting two or more among silica sand, rubber powder, and calcium carbonate having a diameter less than or equal to 0.67 mm, and by mixing the same; adding a process oil to SBS and preparing aged SBS by aging the SBS for one hour or more to add the aged SBS to the basic additive; further adding Bron asphalt to the basic additive; preparing a primary additive by selecting any one among calcium carbonate, cement, and slaked lime and further adding the same to the basic additive; cooling the primary additive; and adding a secondary additive including the aged SBS to the cooled primary additive, and mixing the same.

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the tests of hot mix asphalt (HMA) modi-fi ed with the addition of crumb rubber granulate using the dry method were presented.
Abstract: The article presents the results of the tests of hot mix asphalt (HMA) modi-fi ed with the addition of crumb rubber granulate using the dry method. This modifi cation consisted in the applying of rubber granules into the aggregate mixture, replacing a 0/2 mm fraction of the basalt aggregate. The tests were carried out for the Asphalt Concrete to be used in binder course of a road pavement (AC16W 50/70). There were 5 types of HMA analyzed: without the addition of rubber granules as well as with 1% or 2% (in relation to the weight of the aggregate mix) of activated with a grain size up to 2 mm and non-activated rubber granules with the same grain size. The activation process was carried out using an electro-magnetic mill with a microwave generator, centrifugal rotor mill with supersonic speed and auxiliary equipment. For each analyzed mixture type, density, bulk density, air voids and resistance to water and frost were determined. On the basis of the research, it was observed that the addition of crumb rubber granules to HMA adversely affects the air voids content causing its increase. The addition of crumb rubber granulate also affects the resistance of HMA to water and frost, but the quantitative changes depend on the amount of added crumb rubber granulate.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the performance of the parameters on the acoustic characteristics of the asphalt mixture and found that porosity, aggregate size, and viscosity of asphalt are important basic parameters of the acoustic material.
Abstract: The sound absorption coefficient and acoustic impedance are important basic parameters of the acoustic material. By changing a certain parameter such as porosity, aggregate size, and viscosity of asphalt separately and fixing the other parameters of the asphalt mixture, the performance of the parameters on the acoustic characteristics were analyzed in this paper. From the perspective of sound absorption, aggregate size should be as small as possible, while asphalt viscosity and porosity of the mixture should be as large as possible. From the impedance matching point, the trend lines of acoustic resistance, specific acoustic impedance, and viscosity are concave curves. There is also a peak point of aggregate size on the acoustic properties. There is no correlation between porosity and the acoustic resistance and there may be some space for optimization with the viscosity of asphalt and the aggregate size.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of using recycled asphalt concrete containing cement and a usage method thereof in repair of small roads is described. But the method is not suitable for small-scale repair of roads, large-scale equipment is not needed for production, onsite construction is realized, paving time is shortened, and construction cost is saved.
Abstract: The invention discloses recycled asphalt concrete containing cement and a usage method thereof in repair of small roads. The recycled asphalt concrete containing cement is prepared by old asphalt concrete, asphalt, cement and stones of a specification; wherein addition of cement is 3-7wt% of the total weight of the old asphalt concrete and the stones of a specification, the addition of the asphalt is 2-4wt% of the total weight of the old asphalt concrete and the stones of a specification, and the addition of the stones of a specification is 40-60wt% of the amount of the old asphalt concrete. The old asphalt concrete which is shoveled and dug is used as a raw material in order to carry out regeneration, and the recycled asphalt concrete is obtained, so that high efficiency utilization of waste asphalt mixtures is realized, and effects of resource regeneration and resource saving are improved; in the process of small-sized repairing of roads, large-scale equipment is not needed for production, on-site construction is realized, paving time is shortened, and construction cost is saved.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of shortening the asphalt concrete layer curing period is proposed by brushing the surface of the asphaltcrete layer placed on a substrate, in construction of the pavement.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of shortening a curing period of an asphalt concrete layer and shortening a construction period, in construction of an elastic pavement consisting of the asphalt concrete layer and a pavement layer placed on the same, the method having been conventionally carried out by placing the asphalt concrete layer, leaving the same in the natural environment for two weeks or more as a curing period to degrade a surface of the asphalt concrete layer, and placing the pavement layer on the degraded surface. SOLUTION: The method of shortening the asphalt concrete layer curing period is carried out by brushing the surface of the asphalt concrete layer placed on a substrate, in construction of the pavement. According to the method a sweeper on which a plastic or wire brush is mounted is operated to travel on the asphalt concrete layer, and to wash the surface by spraying sand or water on the same as needed.
