TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient, flexible and accurate numerical scheme for treating scattering problems involving clamped finite elastic plates is developed, which is applied to a single plate in a rigid baffle and also to a periodic array of elastic plates.

TL;DR: In this paper, uniform asymptotic approximations of Green's kernels for boundary value problems of elasticity in singularly perturbed domains containing small holes were presented for two and three dimensions.
Abstract: We present uniform asymptotic approximations of Green’s kernels for boundary value problems of elasticity in singularly perturbed domains containing small holes. We consider the case of an isotropic Lam e operator with the Dirichlet boundary conditions for two and three dimensions, in addition we shall also study the situation of anti-plane shear. The main feature of the asymptotic approximations mentioned is their uniformity with respect to the independent spatial variables. We also oer examples, where results of asymptotic approximations are compared with independent accurate numerical simulations, and demonstrate the superior features of the asymptotic method. The motivation for the talk, came from the asymptotic formulae derived

TL;DR: A review of some asymptotic methods for construction of nonlinear normal modes for continuous system (NNMCS) has been provided in this article, which deals with both traditional approaches and, less widely used, new approaches.
Abstract: This paper provides a review of some asymptotic methods for construction of nonlinear normal modes for continuous system (NNMCS). Asymptotic methods of solving problems relating to NNMCS have been developed by many authors. The main features of this paper are that (i) it is devoted to the basic principles of asymptotic approaches for constructing of NNMCS; (ii) it deals with both traditional approaches and, less widely used, new approaches; and (iii) it pays a lot of attention to the analysis of widely used simplified mechanical models for the analysis of NNMCS. The author has paid special attention to examples and discussion of results.
