TL;DR: In this paper, a video/audio system includes an interface device that receives a plurality of audio and video signals from a multiplicity of sources, and the interface device combines these signals into various combinations and transmits the combinations to a receiver.
Abstract: A video/audio system includes an interface device that receives a plurality of audio and video signals from a plurality of sources. The interface device combines these signals into various combinations and transmits the combinations to a receiver. The receiver is configured to interface one of the combinations of signals with a user. In this regard, the receiver allows the user to select one of the combinations, and in response, the receiver separates the video signal(s) of the selected combination from the audio signal(s) of the selected combination. Then, the receiver renders the video signal(s) via a display device and produces a sound defined by the audio signal(s) via a speaker. Accordingly, the user is able to control which set of audio and video signals are interfaced with the user.

25 Mar 2008TL;DR: An audio signal processing system is configured to separate an audio signal into a dry signal component and one or more reverberant signal components, which can be separately modified and then recombined to form a processed audio signal as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: An audio signal processing system is configured to separate an audio signal into a dry signal component and one or more reverberant signal components. The dry signal component and the reverberant signal components can be separately modified and then recombined to form a processed audio signal. Alternatively, the dry signal component may be combined with an artificial reverberation component to form the processed audio signal. Modification of the reverberation signal component and generation of the artificial reverberation component may be performed in order to modify the acoustic characteristics of an acoustic space in which the audio signal is driving loudspeakers. The audio signal may be a pre-recorded audio signal or a live audio signal generated inside or outside the acoustic space.

31 Oct 2003TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method and arrangement for extracting a fingerprint from a multimedia signal, particularly an audio signal, which is invariant to speed changes of the audio signal.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and arrangement for extracting a fingerprint from a multimedia signal, particularly an audio signal, which is invariant to speed changes of the audio signal. To this end, the method comprises extracting (12,13) a set of robust perceptual features from the multimedia signal, for example, the power spectrum of the audio signal. A Fourier-Mellin transform (15) converts the power spectrum into Fourier coefficients that undergo a phase change only if the audio playback speed changes. Their magnitudes or phase differences (16) constitute a speed change-invariant fingerprint. By a thresholding operation (19), the fingerprint can be represented by a compact number of bits.

25 Nov 1997TL;DR: In this paper, a digital video playback apparatus selectively reproduces video signals which are recorded by using a plurality of cameras each at different angles and method therefor, and a demultiplexer separates a signal output of the digital playback apparatus into system information, the first and second video stream data, and the audio stream data.
Abstract: A digital video playback apparatus selectively reproduces video signals which are recorded by using a plurality of cameras each at different angles and method therefor. A digital playback apparatus reads out first and second video steam data and first and second audio stream data, which are compressed and recorded on a recording medium. A demultiplexer separates a signal output of the digital playback apparatus into system information, the first and second video stream data, and the audio stream data. First and second video decoders expand the first and second compressed video stream data outputs. An audio decoder decodes and expands the audio stream data outputs from the demultiplexer. A key input section generates first and second angle selection signals. A controller analyzes the system information, and generates a switching control signal and a plurality of delay time and gain control signals. A switch selects the first and second video stream data according to the switching control signal. A delay time and gain control circuit delays the audio stream data outputs from the audio decoder according to the delay time control signals, and controls gains of the delayed audio stream data according to the gain control signals.
