TL;DR: In this article, a media processing system and device with improved power usage characteristics, improved audio functionality and improved media security is provided, including an audio processing subsystem that operates independently of the host processor for long periods of time.
Abstract: A media processing system and device with improved power usage characteristics, improved audio functionality and improved media security is provided. Embodiments of the media processing system include an audio processing subsystem that operates independently of the host processor for long periods of time, allowing the host processor to enter a low power state while the audio data is being processed. Other aspects of the media processing system provide for enhanced audio effects such as mixing stored audio samples into real-time telephone audio. Still other aspects of the media processing system provide for improved media security due to the isolation of decrypted audio data from the host processor.

TL;DR: A code frequency component in the encoded audio signal is detected based on an expected code amplitude or on a noise amplitude within a range of audio frequencies including the frequency of the code component as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for including a code having at least one code frequency component in an audio signal are provided. The abilities of various frequency components in the audio signal to mask the code frequency component to human hearing are evaluated and based on these evaluations an amplitude is assigned to the code frequency component. Methods and apparatus for detecting a code in an encoded audio signal are also provided. A code frequency component in the encoded audio signal is detected based on an expected code amplitude or on a noise amplitude within a range of audio frequencies including the frequency of the code component.

TL;DR: This system can (without any prior labeling of data) cluster the audio/visual data into events, such as passing through doors and crossing the street, and hierarchically cluster these events into scenes and get clusters that correlate with visiting the supermarket, or walking down a busy street.
Abstract: A truly personal and reactive computer system should have access to the same information as its user, including the ambient sights and sounds. To this end, we have developed a system for extracting events and scenes from natural audio/visual input. We find our system can (without any prior labeling of data) cluster the audio/visual data into events, such as passing through doors and crossing the street. Also, we hierarchically cluster these events into scenes and get clusters that correlate with visiting the supermarket, or walking down a busy street.

TL;DR: In this article, a digital signal processor for processing various types of signals, such as an image signal and an audio signal, a basic signal processing part, a programmable logic part, and a bus for connecting these parts together.
Abstract: A digital signal processor for processing various types of signals, such as an image signal and an audio signal, a basic signal processing part, a programmable logic part, and a bus for connecting these parts together. Circuit configuration data is transferred to the programmable logic part from an external memory through a data input/output line and the bus under control of the basic signal processing part. The circuit configuration data corresponds to the types of signal processing that is to be performed, and several different types of signal processings can be performed successively.
