TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed new solutions for implementing wideband large switch matrices based on crossbar and L-shaped topologies, which indicated less variation of characteristics for certain types of connectivity.
Abstract: This paper proposes new solutions for implementing wideband large switch matrices. These solutions are based on crossbar and L-shaped topologies. This paper introduces a high-performance wideband switch cell to build up scalable NtimesN switch matrices and gives an account of the design, fabrication, and characteristics of the switch cell and a 3times3 crossbar switch matrix. The chosen design procedure is seen to be appropriate since it produces valid measured results. In addition, this paper presents an RF microelectromechanical systems L-shaped switch matrix, which indicates less variation of characteristics for certain types of connectivity. It also demonstrates that for a 4times4 switch matrix, there is a 50% improvement in insertion loss and phase-shift variation.

TL;DR: A transparent PCI-based multi-host switch as discussed by the authors is designed to include controls to accurately route a packet through the switch and can be included in a variety of switch configurations, including configurations having one multihop switch, configurations having multiple multihops switches and one or more single host switches.
Abstract: A transparent PCI-based multi-host switch. A switch is configured with multiple north facing ports to couple the switch to multiple hosts. The multi-host switch can be included in a variety of switch configurations, including configurations having one multi-host switch, configurations having multiple multi-host switches, and configurations including one or more multi-host switches and one or more single host switches. The switch is designed to include controls to accurately route a packet through the switch.

TL;DR: The designed 2x2 MZI (Mach-Zehnder Interferometer) optical switch has a very high switching capability and is extremely reliable.
Abstract: We introduce here a designing of 2x2 MZI (Mach-Zehnder Interferometer) optical switch. The switching of the optical signal is realized with the use of fast electro-optical effects. The designed model has a very high switching capability and is extremely reliable. Various design parameters have been varied to improve the performance of the switch. Then the basic 2×2 switch is exploited in design of 4×4 banyan switch. Banyan switch is a good candidate for further use in higher order switches. Simulation results are shown for 2×2 and 4×4 banyan architecture with low cross-talk values.
