TL;DR: In this paper, the P2P configuration information from a base station at a UE supporting peer-to-peer (P2P) communication is provided in a system information block (SIB) broadcast by the base station.
Abstract: Configuring a peer-to-peer (P2P) link in a multi-access wireless network includes receiving P2P configuration information from a base station at a UE supporting P2P communication. The first UE communicates directly with a second UE based on the P2P configuration information received from the base station. The first UE may send a configuration request message to the base station, and receive a responsive configuration message with the P2P configuration information from the base station, which messages may be Radio Resource Control (RRC) messages supporting P2P. In the alternative, the P2P configuration information may be provided in a system information block (SIB) broadcast by the base station. The P2P configuration information may indicate allocation of physical layer or Medium Access Control resources, or both allocated for P2P communication, and other information.

TL;DR: In this article, a multiple antenna system including a mobile station and a base station is operable to perform a method for transmitting control information for interference mitigation, where the MS determines a first Precoding Matrix Index (PMI) and a second PMI for interference from an adjacent Base Station (BS).
Abstract: A multiple antenna system including a mobile station and a base station are operable to perform a method for transmitting control information for interference mitigation. A Mobile Station (MS) can transmit control information for interference mitigation. The MS determines a first Precoding Matrix Index (PMI) and a second PMI for interference from an adjacent Base Station (BS). Based on a correlation level from correlation values between one of the first PMI and second PMI and the remaining PMIs in the codebook, the MS determines a level of a subset of PMIs, and feeds back information indicating the correlation level.

TL;DR: In this paper, a person location system consisting of radio base stations and a radio central station, all stations being connected to a public switched telephone network, is described, where the base stations respectively cover small areas, or "microcells", in one of which is located a user station, and the central station covers an area containing all of the microcells.
Abstract: A person location system comprises radio base stations and a radio central station, all stations being connected to a public switched telephone network. The base stations respectively cover small areas, or "microcells", in one of which is located a user station, and the central station covers an area containing all of the microcells. The central station receives a polling signal containing the user's address via the telephone network and broadcasts a copy of the polling signal. A management center is connected to the telephone network for transmitting the polling signal to the central station when a location demand arises. Each base station is responsive to the polling signal from the central station for returning field intensity data of the user station through the telephone network to the management center if the polling signal identifies the user station.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a power-controlled random access method for a mobile station to gain fast access to the base station, where a composite power control command is devised after an initial access attempt, and the determination of the composite command uses an open-loop power-control symbol and a closedloop power control symbol, to decide the action of the mobile station upon transmission of its next random access signal.
Abstract: A novel power-controlled random-access method allows a mobile station to gain fast access to the base station. At the mobile station, a composite power control command is devised after an initial access attempt. The determination of the composite command uses an open-loop power-control symbol and a closed-loop power-control symbol, to decide the action of the mobile station upon transmission of its next random-access signal. In the preferred embodiment, the composite power control command can specify different levels of increase or decrease in transmission power, and the composite power control command can specify a back-off by the mobile station. This composite power-control mechanism can help resolve collision between mobile stations accessing the same random access sub-channel and therefore maintain a low-delay in the random-access process and a high-utilization on the access-channel resource.

TL;DR: In this paper, an improved method and system for performing a pilot signal searching operation in anticipation of handoff in mobile station (18) communication between base stations (12, 14) is presented.
Abstract: An improved method and system for performing a pilot signal searching operation in anticipation of handoff in mobile station (18) communication between base stations (12, 14). The mobile station (18) maintains a list of Active Set pilot signals transmitted from base stations with which the mobile station is to communicate through, and a list of Neighbor Set pilot signals (N) from base stations within a predetermined proximity of the mobile station (18). The searching operation contemplates comparing pilot signal strength measurements corresponding to each base station entry within the Neighbor Set (N) to a first predetermined level. One or more entries from the Neighbor Set (N) having a base station signal strength measurement greater than the first predetermined level may be placed in the Pre-Candidate Set (PC). Tine strength of the pilot signals associated with entries in the Pre-Candidate Set (PC) are then further evaluated to determine eligibility within the Candidate Set (C), from which are selected the entries comprising the Active Set.
