TL;DR: In this paper, a system of automatically configuring and formatting a computer system and installing a prespecified software program in the computer system, which includes: a first partitioning module which automatically creates an active DOS partition on a primary hard disk drive of the computer, a selection module that automatically selects a size value for an extended DOS partition, wherein the size of the extendedDOS partition equals the selected size value, and a formatting module automatically formats each partition so as to create a root directory and a file allocation table for each partition.
Abstract: A system of automatically configuring and formatting a computer system and installing a prespecified software program in the computer system, which includes: a first partitioning module which automatically creates an active DOS partition on a primary hard disk drive of the computer system; a selection module which automatically selects a size value for an extended DOS partition; a second partitioning module which automatically creates the extended DOS partition, wherein the size of the extended DOS partition equals the selected size value; a formatting module which automatically formats each partition so as to create a root directory and a file allocation table for each partition; and an install module which automatically executes a DOS batch file in order to install said prespecified application program

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-speed batch file transfer method with a first storage medium and a second storage medium having higher input and output rates than the first medium for data transfer is presented.
Abstract: A high-speed batch file transfer method having a first storage medium and a second storage medium having higher input and output rates than the first medium for data transfer, which method comprises means for subjecting the file data stored in the first medium to such processing as compression while transferring the file data to the second medium before setting up a communication link on the file transferring side, and setting up a communication link after the completion of the file data processing to thereby transfer the file data in the second medium to a network card all at one time without subjecting the data to any processing, and means for transferring the file data transmitted to the network card to the second medium all at one time without subjecting the data to any processing on the file receiving side, and transferring the data to the first medium while subjecting the data to such processing as decompression.

TL;DR: RunScript is a general-purpose authoring program that allows one to specify, in a script text file, the steps to be undertaken in the execution of an experiment, to add features of arbitrary complexity while maintaining simplicity, clarity, and consistency in the overall architecture of the software and the scripting language.
Abstract: RunScript is a general-purpose authoring program that allows one to specify, in a script text file, the steps to be undertaken in the execution of an experiment. The script language supports fundamental operations, such as conditional branching to script-defined labels, manipulation of variables, sending the user messages, appending a string to a data file, and executing a subsidiary script file. A second command type allows runtime loading and execution of custom object-oriented software modules. A module’s methods (or routines) are accessed from the script file simply by citing their text names, with optional variables likewise specified via a character string. Module development is simplified by requiring that new modules inherit existing code that implements protocols for passing variables and interacting with the script interpreter. These mechanisms allow the experimenter to add features of arbitrary complexity while maintaining simplicity, clarity, and consistency in the overall architecture of the software and the scripting language.

TL;DR: In this paper, a batch file managing part 20 is activated and it is checked whether the record of the same ID as a record becoming the object of update processing is defined as an object of new registration or not (existing in an update file 26 or not).
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate batch processing or update processing itself of records in a database by performing margin processing to the received update records having the same ID, and updating the records registered in the database while using the records after the margin processing. SOLUTION: A batch file managing part 20 is activated and it is checked whether the record of the same ID as a record becoming the object of update processing is defined as the object of new registration or not (exists in an update file 26 or not). When the record of the same ID exists in the update batch file 26, the batch file managing part 20 performs the marging processing for the unit of a field to the update record and the update record existent in the update batch file 26 through an update batch file access part 25, generates the new update record, deletes the existent update record and replaces the generated new update record with the deleted update record.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an electronic price label (EPL) system supporting method by which the speed of a change and reliability are improved by adding a modification to the price look- up (PLU) data file 44 in a store is prepared in a host terminal 13 and the file 52 is transmitted to a main computer 12.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic price label(EPL) system supporting method by which the speed of a change and reliability are improved. SOLUTION: The PLU batch file 52 adding a modification to the price look- up(PLU) data file 44 in a store is prepared in a host terminal 13 and the file 52 is transmitted to a main computer 12. The main computer 12 utilizes this PLU batch file 52. Either one of the host 13 or the main computer 12 prepares an EPL batch file 33 and corrects an EPL data file 32 according to the modification added to the PLU data file 44. When the EPL batch file 33 is prepared by the host 13, a temporary indetification number to be imparted to the new EPL, for instance, is included in the EPL batch file 33. Also the overlays 55 of the new EPL, a reassignment EPL and a substitution EPL are supplied by either one of the host 13 or the main computer 12.
