Method and system for implementing header and trailer record validations

Abstract: The invention relates to header and trailer record validation for batch files. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a computer implemented system implements a Header/Trailer Validation Tool. The Header/Trailer Validation Tool may read a control file containing pertinent information of each file to be validated. Key information may be determined at run time and the Header/Trailer Validation Tool may process the files dynamically. An embodiment of the present invention may also process any number of files in a single execution—this is particularly useful because in some cases a set of files may be received from another application, but not all the files may be used at the same time.

Mobile file transfer methods and apparatus

Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus for transferring blood donation files are disclosed. An example system includes a collection device located at a blood donation site and a collection server located in a remote location. The example collection device is configured to store blood donation information from blood donors within a blood donation batch file located at a designated directory of a memory, and store metadata related to the blood donation information to the blood donation batch file. The example collection device also transmits the blood donation batch file to a registered user device. The example collection server is configured to determine the registered user device is available via a network connection. Responsive to determining the user device is connected, the collection server acquires the blood donation batch file from the user device and aggregates the blood donation batch file with blood donation batch files received from other registered user devices.

An integrated command registration utility has functions to convert the integrated command definition to an integrated command syntax file. Abstract: A computer-implemented method for faster unmount of tape drives includes generating a batch file to be migrated from a primary storage to a tape media acting as a secondary storage. The size of the batch file is determined based on an amount of available storage space on the tape media between a position in a longitudinal direction of storage (LPOS) and longitudinal position three (LP3) on the tape media. The computer-implemented method further includes migrating the batch file from the primary storage to the tape media mounted on a tape drive. Upon completion of migrating the batch file, the LPOS is within a predetermined threshold distance of LP3 on the tape media.
