TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a U-shaped housing for a vacuum cleaner with two rectangular halves, each with flanges which together make up the bell mouth, and when joined form the rectangle with a vertical joint line.
Abstract: The housing for a vacuum cleaner which contains a drum (3) on which the electric supply cable (2) is wound incorporates a recess (4) at one end, housing the plug (10). This recess is formed by a wall (8, 11) spaced inwards from the end of the housing with a bell mouthed opening (5) for the tapered rear part of the plug. The top part (8) is connected by a flat horizontal extension (9) to the end of the housing. This inset end wall may consist of two rectangular halves, each with flanges which together make up the bell mouth. They are thus approximately U shaped, and when joined form the rectangle with a vertical joint line.
