Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to install one of the side faces left unequipped with an air intake opening and air blow out-opening in contact with a house or so and make the blast flow smooth by providing on one side face of a unit an intake opening and a blow-out opening of the air for air cooling. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal type compressor 10 is installed along the long side 2b of a rectangular and pan-shaped substrate 2. On the opposite side 2c a flat type heat exchanger 11 is installed vertically to the substrate 2 and substantially over the whole width of a unit 1. A partition wall 13 of bell mouth construction is provided between the heat exchanger 11 and the compressor 10. A sirocco fan 14 is provided near to this bell mouth section 13a, and a wind tunnel wall 13b is formed between the compressor 10 and the sirocco fan 14. The air for air cooling flows as shown by the arrow F2 through the heat exchanger 11 as an air intake opening, partition wall 13, sirocco fan 14, and air blow-out opening 16 and blows out in the same direction as the intake side. It is also possible to install the unit on the inside of the walls of a house.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To inhale the inside air from almost the whole circumference of a bell mouth as well as to aim at the promotion of high air quantity and low noise, by selecting each of inside and outside air intakes installed in an outer case where an inner case is housed, according to upper and lower sliding positions of the inner case. CONSTITUTION:At the time of taking in the outside air, an inner case 4 is slidably fitted in a cylindrical outer case 3, and since negative pressure is not yet impressed on an actuator 6, this inner case 4 is pressed down by a spring 7. Therefore, an inside air intake 13 is closed, while an outside air intake 12 is opened and interconnected to a conducting port 16 by another conducting port 14. Accordingly, the outside air is inhaled in a bell mouth 11 by way of the outside air intake 12 and these conducting ports 14 and 16. On the other hand, when the negative pressure is impressed on the actuator 6 and the inner case 4 is pulled up, the outside intake 12 is closed while the inside intake 13 is opened instead. Therefore, the inside air can be inhaled from almost the whole circumference an and around the bell mouth 11.
