TL;DR: In this paper, a device and method for adapting a turbine package, comprising a turbine and a frame (R), where the turbine comprises an inlet bell mouth (1, 4, 8) and/or an exhaust bell mouth, and where there is a difference in length between two or more dissimilar models of turbines, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth door (2, 5) or the plenum wall for the turbines do not correspond.
Abstract: A device and method for adapting a turbine package, comprising a turbine and a frame (R), where the turbine comprises an inlet bell mouth (1, 4, 8) and/or an exhaust bell mouth, and where there is a difference in length between two or more dissimilar models of turbines, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth door (2, 5) or the plenum wall for the turbines do not correspond. The adaptation may, for example, be carried out either by extending the inlet bell mouth (8) of the shorter turbine, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth doors (5, 10) of the two turbines correspond and by producing the frame so that the bell mouth door (10) is positioned in accordance with the corresponding anchorage points (12, 13), or by providing the bell mouth door with a conical section (24) having a length corresponding to the length difference between the turbines.

TL;DR: In this article, an air outlet grill 17 of an outdoor machine unit is protruded frontward by a width W of a mounting edge part 17a from a front part 12a of a cassette casing 12, in which an air supply port 18 is formed.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve blast performance and to reduce the generation of noise by providing an air guide part having an air flow straightening surface extending in the direction of an air outlet grill in a state to be continued from the rear end of a bell mouth. SOLUTION: An air outlet grill 17 of an outdoor machine unit is protruded frontward by a width W of a mounting edge part 17a from a front part 12a of a cassette casing 12, in which an air supply port 18 is formed, through the mounting edge 17a to a cassette casing front part 12a having width W. A plate- form wind direction regulation guide 21 to arbitrarily regulate a wind direction is inclinably arranged at an opening part for air supply on the front part side. Further, an air guide 22 for turbulence prevention having rounding surfaces for straightening of an air flow, having a curvature gradually increasing radially externally continuously from the rear end of a bell mouth 19, at four corners in the directions of diagonal lines in a space formed according to a frontward protrusion size W inside the air outlet grill 17 is disposed in a state to extend approximately to the vicinity of an air direction regulation guide 21 of the air outlet grill 17.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed to miniaturize a water suction vessel by providing a passage for generating a swirling flow swirling in the same direction with the rotating direction of a pump impeller inside a suction pipe, through a peripheral wall.
Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a water suction vessel while reducing the residual water quantity in the water suction vessel by providing a passage for generating a swirling flow swirling in the same direction with the rotating direction of a pump impeller inside a suction pipe, through a peripheral wall. SOLUTION: The high-pressure water led into an annular pressure chamber 6 is discharged into a suction bell mouth 2 through plural passage. Since these plural passages lead the high-pressure water into a peripheral wall 5 in each tangent direction so as to generate a swirling flow swirling in the same direction with the rotating direction of a pump impeller 3 inside a suction bell mouth 2, the high-pressure water discharged from the plural passages into the suction bell mouth 2 is converted to a swirling flow swirling in the same direction with the rotating direction of the pump impeller 3. With this structure, since the output of a vertical pump P is lowered and the quantity of the suction flow to the suction bell mouth 2 is restricted small, generation of air suction voltex is avoided to enable the low water level operation, reducing residual water quantity in a water suction vessel 1.

TL;DR: In this article, the mute has a metal body (100) with a main hollowed portion (104) including a friction portion (120) at one end for fitting into the bell mouth of the trumpet, and a projection of the outer end of the body is formed with a cylindrical configuration to engage inside a bowl-shaped attachment.
Abstract: The mute has a metal body (100) with a main hollowed portion (104) including a friction portion (120) at one end for fitting into the bell mouth of the trumpet. A projection (112) of the outer end of the body is formed with a cylindrical configuration to engage inside a bowl-shaped attachment (200). The bowl is formed of flexible or semi-rigid material, e.g. leather, with a diameter similar to that of the bell mouth at its open end. An opening is formed at the base of the bowl, surrounded by a lip (206), into which the cylindrical projection of the body fits to allow relative sliding between the two components.

TL;DR: In this article, a hollow sound-absorbing member 11 is installed right above an air inlet 9a of a ceiling recessed air conditioner 1, where a side plate 11c disposed with an inclination, together with a bell mouth 5, guides suction air toward a turbo-blower 3.
Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce sound radiated from an air inlet into a room space without increasing an inlet flow resistance of room air in a ceiling recessed air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A hollow sound-absorbing member 11 is installed right above an air inlet 9a of a ceiling recessed air conditioner 1. The sound-absorbing member 11 is formed in a frustum of cone so that a side plate 11c thereof disposed with an inclination, together with a bell mouth 5, guides suction air toward a turbo-blower 3. Whistling sound evolving in the turbo-blower 3 is introduced into an interior of the sound-absorbing member 11 through the side plate 11c and diminished.

TL;DR: In this article, a rotary air-conditioning damper is proposed to suppress air crossing sound in a high heat insulation and highly sealed building, where noise is suppressed to low and an operation control is facilitated.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an air-conditioning damper in which ventilation can be carried out in a high heat insulation and highly sealed building, noise such as air crossing sound is suppressed to low and an operation control is facilitated. CONSTITUTION:The air-conditioning damper is a rotary type having a shielding plate 14 rotatable around a rotary shaft crossing a flowing direction, has an opening 16 at the part of the plate 14, and a protrusion 17 formed to protrude in the flowing direction from the side edge of the opening 16 in such a manner that the inside surface of the starting end of the protrusion 17 and the plate 14 are smoothly continued via curved surfaces. Further, the inside surface of the end side of the protrusion 17 is formed in a bell mouth state radially extended toward the end to constitute the damper 10. Thus, excess control is omitted to always ventilate the room. Further, the air resistance of the conditioned air flowing the opening 16 is reduced to largely suppress air crossing sound, and hence the discomfortableness can be eliminated.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of examining the condition of the bottom wall surface in VLCC tanks was proposed, where a camera was mounted on an articulated arm system and raised to an elevated position.
Abstract: A method of examining the condition of the bottom wall surface in VLCC tanks in which bell-mouth shaped lower ends (12) of oil outlet pipes (11) are disposed closely adjacent the bottom wall (10) of the vessel, and comprising a camera (14) mounted on an articulated arm system (15) so that it may be introduced through the narrow gap beneath the bell mouth pipe end and raised to an elevated position. The camera (14), preferably video, is remotely connected to a monitor whereby the tank wall beneath the bell mouth may be inspected preferably with the aid of illumination from an array of lights (17) disposed around the camera lens (16). A pair of graduated scales (18) enable accurate location of the inspected site, and an ultrasonic probe (19) may be introduced also through the narrow gap beneath the bell mouth pipe end to provide a measurement of wall thickness. This method and apparatus enable accurate and ready inspection of the wall surface without the need for removal of a lower part of the outlet pipe. The array of lights can produce radiation in the IR range.
