Abstract: The invention comprises: a housing (11) having a rectangular parallelepiped shape; an outdoor heat exchanger (12) that is provided to the housing (11) and exchanges heat between outside air and a refrigerant; an outdoor fan (13) provided to the housing (11); a bell mouth (14) that surrounds the outer periphery of the outdoor fan (13) and forms an opening for blowing out air by the outdoor fan (13); an inverter substrate (35a, 35b) provided in a space between the lateral side of the bell mouth (14) and the inner side of a side surface cover (31) which constitutes the housing; and a flow path (a) through which air passing the inverter substrate (35a, 35b) or a heat sink (36a, 36b) flows, the flow path being provided to the side surface cover (31) and having an inlet (41) and an outlet (42) which are opened toward the outside. The outlet (42) is arranged adjacent to the bell mouth (14), and is oriented toward the side in the same direction as the direction in which the bell mouth (14) blows out air.

An axial length L2 of the second bell mouth (70) is greater than an axial length L1 of the first bell mouth (60).

Abstract: Three types of bell mouth with the inward bell mouths whose exit diameter are larger than the impeller inner diameter of multi-blade centrifugal fan used in floor standing air-conditioner are investigated by using the numerical simulation method. Three bell mouths are as follows: The first type of bell mouth is the inward inlet used in the original air-conditioner. The second type is the inward inlet whose axial height is larger than the first type. The third type is the new mold line inward inlet with smaller slope angle than the first type. Calculation results show that the later two type bell mouths can help to improve air volume flow ratio, reduce the vortex in the back of volute exit and increase the air volume flow rate of 6.8 % and 4.2% respectively. The experimental verification was conducted for the simulation results and the experimental results shows that the air volume rates increase 4.7 % and 3% respectively, the level of noise is constant. The entire performances of the two types are both improved.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water spray jet device to suppress the diffusion of a jet air flow containing cooled air thereby contriving duration of a wind velocity of the jet air flow in a target area at water spray cooling that cools locally an open space.SOLUTION: The water spray jet device 1 includes: an outlet 2 which jets air; a bell mouth 3 which is disposed around the outlet 2; and a water spray nozzle 5 which is disposed at the bell mouth 3 and sprays water toward a jet air flow 4 jetted from the outlet 2. The bell mouth 3 resists an inducing air flow and thereby the wind velocity of the inducing air flow by the jet air flow and spraying water becomes lower. Accordingly, the vortex flow generation in the vicinity of the area where the induced air flow and the jet air flow 4 sprayed and ejected from the water spray nozzle 5 and jetted from the outlet 2 join together is suppressed. Furthermore, the diffusion of the air jet flow containing the cooled air is suppressed and the duration of the wind velocity is contrived whereby the cool breeze feeling is applied to a worker and the work environment can be improved.
