TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive set of experiments have been carried out using four different mouth-shapes of a vertical intake, and the results showed that with reducing the radius of curvature of the intake, the coefficient of discharge rate increased.
Abstract: The strong vortices at the mouth of an intake reduce the discharge efficiency. One of the solutions for controlling the vortex is the use of bell-mouth intakes. Since only general guidance for use of bell-mouth intakes is available a study for the more shapes of mouth of intake is needed. Hence, a comprehensive set of experiments have been carried out using 4 different mouth-shapes of a vertical intake. The results showed that with reducing the radius of curvature of bell-mouth intake, the coefficient of discharge rate increased, and maximum discharge coefficient with four different mouth shape of intake with the radius of curvature of 2d was created.

Abstract: A device and method for adapting a turbine package, comprising a turbine and a frame (R), where the turbine comprises an inlet bell mouth (1, 4, 8) and/or an exhaust bell mouth, and where there is a difference in length between two or more dissimilar models of turbines, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth door (2, 5) or the plenum wall for the turbines do not correspond. The adaptation may, for example, be carried out either by extending the inlet bell mouth (8) of the shorter turbine, so that the anchorage points (12, 13) of the bell mouth doors (5, 10) of the two turbines correspond and by producing the frame so that the bell mouth door (10) is positioned in accordance with the corresponding anchorage points (12, 13), or by providing the bell mouth door with a conical section (24) having a length corresponding to the length difference between the turbines.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air blower capable of suppressing noise generated in a stator blade while greatly improving air feeding efficiency, and an outdoor machine using the same.SOLUTION: An air blower includes: a bell mouth part 11 that is arranged so as to be separated in a predetermined distance radial direction with respect to the outer peripheral end of a propeller fan FN; a diffuser part 12 that is provided on the downstream side of the bell mouth part 11 and whose flow passage area is enlarged from the upstream side to the downstream side at a magnification larger than the magnification of a flow passage area in the downstream end part of the bell mouth part 11; and a stator part 2F that includes a plurality of stator blades 22. The stator part 2F is arranged in the diffuser part 12.

Abstract: The invention relates to the field of satellite antenna equipment, and particularly discloses a dehumidifier for a bell mouth surface of a satellite antenna. The dehumidifier comprises a power supply module, a hot blast generating device which is electrically connected with the power supply module, a blast pipe which is connected with the hot blast generating device, and a blower, wherein an air outlet of the blower is relatively arranged on the bell mouth surface of the satellite antenna. The dehumidifier for the bell mouth surface of the satellite antenna uses hot blast at a proper temperature to melt ice and snow which are pilled up on the bell mouth surface of the satellite antenna, and dry the water accumulated in the bell mouth of the antenna, so that the bell mouth surface and the interior of the antenna are kept dry at any time, the antenna communication is not influenced by ice, snow and accumulated water, the safety and stability of communication are ensured, the risk and cost of manual maintenance are reduced, and the dehumidifier is safe, efficient and practical.
