TL;DR: An extensible pneumatic actuator with bellows (EPAB) that consists of a rubber tube and a highly packed bellows sleeve and a parametric model of the EPAB that can comprise various bellows and rubber tubes is proposed.
Abstract: The ability of a continuum arm is influenced by the performance of an actuator. Although several extensible pneumatic actuators have been proposed in previous research, balancing strength with large strain is still a challenge. We propose an extensible pneumatic actuator with bellows (EPAB) that consists of a rubber tube and a highly packed bellows sleeve. We propose a parametric model of the EPAB that can comprise various bellows and rubber tubes. We measured the basic properties of four actuators with different parameters to verify the proposed model. We conducted evaluation experiments under two conditions: constant length with variable pressure and constant pressure with variable length. The experimental results indicate that the proposed model can roughly predict the measured data. The proposed extensible actuator has an unloaded strain of up to 350% at a pressure of 0.6 MPa.

TL;DR: In this paper, a connection between a metal bellows tube (A) and a metal tube (B) of a different material from the Bellows tube is constructed from a connection end section of the metal tube and a sleeve (7) secured to the outer side of the connection section.
Abstract: A structure for connection between a metal bellows tube (A) and a metal tube (B) of a different material from the bellows tube A connection section of the bellows tube has a straight tube section (1) in the bellows tube, a nipple (2), a bellows tube reinforcing section (3), and a fastening collar (4), and they are fitted and secured to each other in that order from the inside of the tube The nipple has a base section (2-1) joined to the reinforcing section and a connection end section (2-2) extending to the metal tube side The fastening collar has a small diameter section (4-1) on the metal tube side and a large diameter section (4-2) on the bellows tube side A connection section of the metal tube is constructed from a connection end section (6) of the metal tube and a sleeve (7) secured to the outer side of the connection section The sleeve (7) has a base section (7-1) joined to the connection section and a fitting end section (7-2) extending to the bellows tube side The fitting end section of the sleeve is fitted on the small diameter section of the fastening collar, and the outer surface of the connection end section of the nipple and the inner surface of the connection end section of the metal tube are bonded and fixed by heat curing resin, with end surfaces of the bellows tube reinforcing section and of the fastening collar and an end surface of the metal tube made to be in contact or to be close to each other

TL;DR: In this paper, a cup-shaped bellows member was removed from an adjustable headband and placed against the closed eyelid of a patient being prepared for intraocular surgery and upon whose head the headband has been placed.
Abstract: Disclosed is a cup-shaped bellows member removably attached to an adjustable headband. One end of the member is positioned to bear against the closed eyelid of a patient being prepared for intraocular surgery and upon whose head the headband has been placed. The opposite end of the bellows member is closed by a plate having a tubular portion communicating with the interior of the bellows portion and adapted to be connected to a means for increasing the pressure in monitored increments inside the chamber formed by the bellows and plate.

TL;DR: In this paper, a device for compressing a stack of high-temperature fuel cells, the stack being held in a frame, is designed to make possible optimisation of the compression of the cells in a common assembly with respect to one another.
Abstract: A device for compressing a stack of high-temperature fuel cells (2), the stack being held in a frame (3), is intended to make possible optimisation of the compression of the cells in a common assembly with respect to one another. This is achieved in that a pressing or expansion element (5), in particular designed as a bellows to which internal pressure is applied, is provided between one end of the stack and the frame (3).
