TL;DR: In this article, a passage for establishing a pressure balance between the interior of the bellows and the environment was provided on the collar on the connecting part of the joint, one section of the passage, which runs along the inner surface of the collar between the internal and environment, running in the circumferential direction around the axis of rotation of a corresponding connecting part, and two adjoining sections which run at an angle to the abovementioned section towards the axial direction.
Abstract: Bellows composed of flexible material for sealing off a torque-transmitting joint which is provided with lubricant, the bellows being attached by at least one collar to a connecting part of the joint and by another collar to the outer part of the joint and isolating the joint in its interior from the environment, a passage for establishing a pressure balance between the interior of the bellows and the environment being provided on the collar on the connecting part of the joint, one section of the passage, which runs along the inner surface of the collar between the interior of the bellows and the environment, running in the circumferential direction around the axis of rotation of a corresponding connecting part of the joint in at least one partial area of the collar, and two adjoining sections which run at an angle to the abovementioned section towards the axial direction.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a respirator including a mask body with a breathing filter at a breathing connection of the mask body, with a cuff accommodating the breathing filter and with a bellows, which seals the mask interior against the environment.
Abstract: A respirator including a mask body with a breathing filter at a breathing connection of the mask body, with a cuff accommodating the breathing filter and with a bellows, which seals the mask interior against the environment. The bellows is connected to the cuff and to the mask body. The breathing filter is locked in the position of use based on the bellows being made in one piece with the breathing connection, as a continuation of the mask body. The bellows surrounds the cuff in the manner of a truncated cone, in at least one partial section of the extent of the breathing filter.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for utilizing a piston and cylinder combination eliminating the usual sealing and oil rings and their accompanying friction and replacing them with ball bearings which in the principal embodiment are captured in splitring cages which are snapped into the existing grooves of the piston.
Abstract: Means and method are provided for utilizing a piston and cylinder combination eliminating the usual sealing and oil rings and their accompanying friction and replacing them with ball bearings which in the principal embodiment are captured in splitring cages which are snapped into the existing grooves of the piston. Having thus lost the sealing ability of the piston, an accordion-type diaphram is utilized in the top of the cylinder to define the compression or combustion chamber.

TL;DR: In this paper, an industrial electrical, vacuum furnace for ion processing of work is provided with an improved feed-through interlock and insulator arrangement, where a sealed interlock chamber on the furnace door is in fluid communication with the furnace's heat treat chamber.
Abstract: An industrial electrical, vacuum furnace for ion processing of work is provided with an improved feed-through interlock and insulator arrangement. A sealed interlock chamber on the furnace door is in fluid communication with the furnace's heat treat chamber. A bellows outside of the interlock chamber is in fluid communication therewith. When a vacuum is drawn in the heat treat chamber, the bellows distends into a collapsed position to provide a firmly clamped electrical connection with the feed-through which extends through the door into the interlock chamber. The feed-through is thus pinned by the bellows at one end and a V-shaped pulley guide arrangement within the furnace controls thermal distortion of the feed-through. The insulator arrangement includes a plurality of interlocking, ceramic caps or spacers which are stacked one on top of the other to define tortuous paths or gaps therebetween which prevent electrically conductive material deposited thereon during the ionizing process from establishing an electrically conductive path along which or as a result thereof an ion glow discharge or arcing or short circuiting could occur.

TL;DR: In this paper, a quick disconnect male fitting (50) joins to a female fitting (12) that includes an outlet housing (34), an outlet opening (46), and a spring loaded plug (36) that is biased against the outlet opening to seal the opening.
Abstract: A quick disconnect male fitting (50) joins to a female fitting (12) that includes an outlet housing (34), an outlet opening (46), and a spring loaded plug (36) that is biased against the outlet opening (46) to seal the outlet opening (46). The male fitting (50) comprises an inlet housing (51) and a plunger (20) having an expanded tip (22). A support (18) fixedly mounts the plunger to the inlet housing (51). A bellows (52) concentrically surrounds the plunger (20) and extends from the inlet housing (51) to the expanded tip (22) of the plunger (20). The bellows (52) has an engagement end (62) which bears against the expanded tip (22), thereby sealing the interior of the bellows from the external environment. The bellows (52) further is provided with a shoulder (60) which, upon insertion of the plunger (20) into the outlet opening (46), is compressed by engagement with the outlet housing (34), thereby causing compression of the bellows (52) and separation of the engagement end from the expanded tip (22). This enables creation of a pathway from the outlet opening (46) to the inlet housing (51) and, to a connected printer.
