TL;DR: In this paper, a method is presented for analyzing the transient behavior of the eddy currents induced in a vacuum vessel consisting of several shell sections each of which is composed of thick plates and bellows made up with thin sheets.
Abstract: The structural design of vacuum vessels containing a plasma requires a knowledge of the eddy currents induced by the pulsed magnetic fields employed in these vessels. Consideration of the eddy currents is also indispensable for design of a feedback control system for the plasma position. A method is presented for analyzing the transient behavior of the eddy currents induced in a vacuum vessel consisting of several shell sections each of which is composed of thick plates and bellows made up with thin sheets. This method is based on integro-differential equations with magnetic vector and electrostatic scalar potentials. The charges accumulating at each bellows edge play an important role, and create axially non-symmetric components of the eddy currents.

TL;DR: In this article, a cooling device between a cooling plate having a first coolant circulating therein, and an electronic part to be cooled, mounted on a printed-wiring board, comprising a hollow part being thermally conductive, having a hollow chamber through which the first cooledant circulates, and connected to the cooling plate by a flange part, was presented.
Abstract: A cooling device located between a cooling plate having a first coolant circulating therein, and an electronic part to be cooled, mounted on a printed-wiring board, comprising a hollow part being thermally conductive, having a hollow chamber through which the first coolant circulates, and connected to the cooling plate by a flange part being thermally conductive, a thermal conduction plate attached to a surface of the electronic part and connected to the flange part by a bellows providing a space among the hollow part, the bellows and the thermal conduction plate, and a second liquid coolant filling the space for transferring heat from the thermal conduction plate to the hollow part by a convection current of the second coolant. The second coolant is made of alloy being chemically inactive to the bellows and having a low melting point so as to be liquid at ordinary temperatures.

TL;DR: In this paper, a bump stopper is provided in the vicinity of a rod of a shock absorber to elastically limit the stroke of the rod at the time of the contraction thereof and to absorb the shock generated at that time.
Abstract: Disclosed are a bump stopper and a manufacturing method therefor which can maintain the shock-absorbing characteristics and durability performance constantly for a prolonged period of time regardless of the temperature or humidity of the usage environment, which can maintain a constant dimensional precision for a finished product, which is excellent in material yield rate and manufacturing efficiency, and which is low-cost, lightweight, recyclable, and ecological. A bump stopper ( 1 ) is provided in the vicinity of a rod of a shock absorber to elastically limit the stroke of the shock absorber at the time of the contraction thereof and to absorb the shock generated at that time. The bump stopper includes a hollow cylindrical bellows part ( 11 ) which extends along a stroke direction S of the shock absorber. The bellows part is formed by thinning thermoplastic resin and is constructed such that first parts ( 12 ) which are bulged outward and second parts ( 13 ) which are recessed inward are provided alternately and repeatedly in the stroke direction S.

TL;DR: An integral bed mattress as discussed by the authors consists of an upper sheet having a plurality of upper sleeves made as bellows protruding downwardly from the upper sheet, a lower sheet with a plurality lower sleeves made upwardly from lower sheet each lower sleeve being axially aligned with each upper sleeve, and a multiplicity of helical springs each spring jacketed in each upper seam and each lower seam.
Abstract: An assembled bed mattress includes an upper sheet having a plurality of upper sleeves made as bellows protruding downwardly from the upper sheet, a lower sheet having a plurality of lower sleeves made as bellows protruding upwardly from the lower sheet each lower sleeve being axially aligned with each upper sleeve, a plurality of helical springs each spring jacketed in each upper sleeve and each lower sleeve, and a fastener wire or zipper securing the two sheets to form an integral bed mattress having the plurality of springs resiliently retained between the two sheets, whereby upon a dismantling of the two sheets, any partial damaged springs can be replaced with perfect springs for easier maintenance of a mattress.

TL;DR: A waterbed mattress as discussed by the authors includes a spring insert (10) comprising a plurality of spring bellows units arranged in upright relation within the mattress, each of which has a top wall and pleated sidewall which is collapsible from a normal expanded height to a shortened compressed height wherein the internal volume of the bellows unit is substantially reduced.
Abstract: A waterbed mattress (12) includes a spring insert (10) comprising a plurality of spring bellows units (22) arranged in upright relation within the mattress. Each bellows unit has a top wall and pleated sidewall (26) which is collapsible from a normal expanded height to a shortened compressed height wherein the internal volume of the bellows unit is substantially reduced. Each bellows unit (22) furthermore has a bleeder opening (30) through one wall so that a compression load exerted on the bellows unit through the mattress top wall is resisted by both spring action and hydraulic action of the bellows units. The bellows units may be confined within flexible covers defining secondary hydraulic chambers. The size, position and hydraulic characteristics may be varied for different degrees of support at different positions on the mattress.
