TL;DR: In this paper, a damping system is described, which includes a housing having an inner surface defining a passage therethrough, a first bellows disposed within the passage, the second bellows having an outer surface and spaced apart from the housing inner surface to define a second chamber having a volume, a restrictive flow passage in fluid communication with the first and second chambers.
Abstract: Apparatus are provided for a damping system. The system includes a housing having an inner surface defining a passage therethrough, a first bellows disposed within the passage, the first bellows having an outer surface and spaced apart from the housing inner surface to define a first chamber having a volume, a second bellows disposed within the passage, the second bellows having an outer surface and spaced apart from the housing inner surface to define a second chamber having a volume, a restrictive flow passage in fluid communication with the first and second chambers, fluid disposed within the first chamber, the second chamber, and the restrictive flow passage, and a piston coupled to the second bellows and disposed at least partially within the restrictive flow passage, the piston configured to selectively receive a force to thereby move the piston through the housing passage.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a connector which has a bellows type contact of spring metal and a holder which has bottom, a longitudinal slot for receiving a circuit panel, a cavity for housing the bellows-type contact, a hollow formed at upper portion of the cavity and partition wall for separating the adjacent contacts.
Abstract: A connector which has bellows type contacts of spring metal and a holder which has a bottom, a longitudinal slot for receiving a circuit panel, a cavity for housing the bellows type contact, a hollow formed at upper portion of the cavity and partition wall for separating the adjacent contacts. The bellows type contact consists of a lower end portion, an attached portion, a first bent portion, a second bent portion, a straight portion, a third bent portion and an upper end portion. The straight portion is the portion contacting the panel circuit. The contact has a spring substrate which consists of phosphor bronze, a contact metal of tin or tin-lead alloy, and a layer of copper between the substrate and the contact metal. With the improved shape and material of the contact, there is provided better contact performance even for a contact of tin or tin-lead alloy which is very cheap compared to the conventional gold contact and it is thus advantageous for use in consumer type electric equipment.

TL;DR: In this paper, a vacuum pickup arrangement, particularly for a pick and place system for automated testing of integrated circuits, employs a resilient, bellows-like retractable device for making a secure vacuum-tight engagement with the integrated circuit specimen.
Abstract: A vacuum pickup arrangement (10), particularly for a pick and place system for automated testing of integrated circuits, employs a resilient, bellows-like retractable device (15) for making a secure vacuum-tight engagement with the integrated circuit specimen (21). The creation of the vacuum-tight engagement causes axial collapse of the bellows-like arrangement whereby the specimen (21) is brought into communication with one or more protuberances or edges which define a predetermined angular orientation of the integrated circuit specimen desired to be achieved. Laterally disposed alignment jaws (18) are employed to align the integrated circuit specimen (21) with a test socket (22) at a remote location. However, when the specimen is returned, the resilient nature of the bellows (15) automatically realigns the integrated circuit specimen (21) with the location at which it was originally picked up.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a flexible collaboration for transferring TORQUE including a multilayered METAL CYCLDRICAL BELL, in which the LAYERS of METAL are separated by an ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL.
Abstract: A FLEXIBLE JOINT FOR TRANSFERRING TORQUE INCLUDING A MULTILAYERED METAL CYLINDRICAL BELLOWS IN WHICH THE LAYERS OF METAL ARE SEPARATED BY AN ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL. THE ELASTOMERIC MATERIAL FUNCTIONS TO EQUALIZE STRESSES IN THE METAL BELLOWS AND TO REDUCE TORSIONAL WINDUP.

TL;DR: In this paper, a universal joint has its sleeve surrounding the drive shaft separated from this shaft over only a cylindrical segment by a device communicating between the interior of the sleeve and the external atmosphere.
Abstract: A bellows seal for a universal joint has its sleeve surrounding the drive shaft separated from this shaft over only a cylindrical segment by a device communicating between the interior of the sleeve and the external atmosphere. This device has a portion of small circumferential width lying below the sleeve and a portion of large circumferential width integral with the first portion. An axial groove in the first portion communicating with a meandering groove forming a baffle in the second portion before this meandering groove opens into the ambient atmosphere.
