TL;DR: In this article, a high pressure hose construction and method of and apparatus for making the same is disclosed wherein the hose construction has a smooth walled inner liner of resilient polymeric material, and an adhesive layer, which may also be of polymeric materials bonded to the liner.
Abstract: A high pressure hose construction and method of and apparatus for making the same is disclosed wherein the hose construction has a smooth walled inner liner of resilient polymeric material, and an adhesive layer, which may also be of polymeric material bonded to the liner. A braided cover is disposed over the entire layer and embedded therein. This braided cover is comprised of a plurality of elongated intermeshing strands of non-metallic fibers, such as yarn, and metallic fibers. Preferably, every three strands are of flexible, non-metallic fibers, such as nylon fibers, and every fourth strand is of metallic fiber, such as piano wire or spring steel. One set of strands crosses over and under another set to produce an intermeshing or weaving effect. These strands may also extend in a direction at an angle, such as 45° or 53°, to the longitudinal axes of the liner, to improve the bend radius and prevent ballooning or extension or the like of the finished hose construction when used in high pressure applications.

TL;DR: In this article, a flexible hose assembly is used to transmit fluid between relatively movable components, such as a drive motor secured to the main frame of a vehicle and pressurized fluid supply ports resiliently supported on a main frame.
Abstract: A flexible hose assembly (10) transmits fluid between relatively movable components, such as a drive motor (16) secured to the main frame (14) of a vehicle (12) and pressurized fluid supply ports (13) resiliently supported on the main frame (14), in a constricted region where typical hose motions could result in chafing or cutting from contacts with adjacent structure. A flexed portion (39) of the hose (38) extends within a curved tubular rigid sleeve (47) which is fixed relative to one (16) of the fluid transmitting components (16, 13) and free of rigid attachment to the other (13). The diameter of the inside passage (51) of the sleeve (47) is greater than that of the hose (38) enabling limited necessary flexing while preventing more sizable and potentially damaging hose (38) movements. The curved hose portion (39) may have a radius of curvature smaller than the normal minimum bending radius as the sleeve (47) restrains kinking by preventing concentration of bending forces at one point on the hose (38).

TL;DR: In this article, a bending moment is given to the austenitic stainless cast steel pipe P in the heating zone, in order to cause the continuous plastic deformation by the bending radius R, 1.5-3 times of the length of the pipe P; therefore, the bending work is applied to the pipeP.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To continuously plastically deform the austenitic stainless cast steel pipe in order to make it bendable without causing cracks, by limiting the working condition. CONSTITUTION:The austenitic stainless cast steel pipe P is passed through the guide rolls 1, 2, and the heater 3, and is clamped by the clamp 6 of the arm 5 at the suitable position. Next, the pipe P is continuously sent forward at a speed 0.2- 1.0mm/sec and is heated to 1,060-1,300 deg.C by the heater 3; immediately after that, the pipe P is water cooled by the cooler 4. Hereupon, a bending moment is continuously given to the pipe P in the heating zone, in order to cause the continuous plastic deformation by the bending radius R, 1.5-3 times of the length of the pipe P; hereby, the bending work is applied to the pipe P. Besides, the reason of limiting the working condition is because that the slower the sending speed for the pipe P is, the less is the generation of cracks, however, if the speed exceeds the limited range, the productivity is lowered. And the smaller the bending radius is, the higher the heating temperature is required to be, however, if the temperature exceeds the limited range, the postwork material quality is deteriorated.

TL;DR: In this article, a straight pipe is used as the original pipe to produce a captioned bent pipe by performing bending working after carrying out eccentric working in advance to the part B which is subject to bending working.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture the captioned bent pipe by performing bending working after carrying out eccentric working by which a straight pipe is used as its original pipe, thickness of the part to be the outside of the bent pipe is increased by the reduced thickness due to bending working, and thickness of the part to be the inside is reduced by the increased thickness. CONSTITUTION:The increased thickness tA and the reduced thickness tB of the eccentric working part of the original pipe 1, the length of the part B which is subject to bending working, and the lengh l of the taper part connected to the straight pipe part 1C from the part B which is subject to bending working are properly adjusted or varied depending upon the bending conditions in case of performing the bending working, that is, the bending radius and the bending angle. Also, the eccentric working of the original pipe 1 can be easily carried out by partially performing plastic deformation through the upper and lower half dies making a circle by coupling the straight pipes, but also it can be molded by means of cutting working from the pipe by machine work. As mentioned above, by carrying out the eccentric working in advance to the part B which is subject to bending working of the original pipe 1, both the outside part 2a and the inside part 2b can be molded to the same thickness t as that of the straight pipe part 2C of both the ends, after bending working.

TL;DR: In this article, the outer surface of a round-grooved plate was used to bend a pipe into a desired curvature by employing plural round-grained plates of different radii and the motor driven worm mechanism.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To bend the pipe into desired curvature utilizing the outer surface of the round grooved plate, by employing plural round grooved plates of different radii and the motor driven worm mechanism. CONSTITUTION:At first, a unit of bending plate 20, possessing the groove fittable to outer diameter of the pipe 3 and the round grooved plate of required bending radius, is set to the frame 14. Next, the pipe 3 is fitted to the bending plate 20 with the holding metal 9, and the right side of the pipe 3 is borne by the roller 10. Then, the position of the limit switch 25 is set to the point corresponding to the desired bending angle of the pipe 3. And the bending plate 20 is rotated together with the pipe 3 by the motor 22 through the worm mechanism 23, 24. Hereby, the pipe 3 is slid on the roller 10 and is bent along the curved outer surface of the round grooved plate of the bending plate 20. When the knock pin 26 fixed on the worm wheel 24 hits the lever 27 of the limit switch 25, the power supply is interrupted at once at the aim bending angle.

TL;DR: In this paper, a sheet of metal plate 1 is bent to semi-cylindrical form at a bending radius more than equal to the diameter of the desired straight pipe part.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To minimize weld zone and improve workability and the accuracy of the pipe joint by bending a metal plate to half cylindrical form, die-pressing the same from the inner side to protrusion-form the branch pipe part thence bending both end edges of the metal plate to cylindrical form and butt-welding these. CONSTITUTION:One sheet of metal plate 1 is bent to semi-cylindrical form at a bending radius more than equal to the diameter of the desired straight pipe part. The bottom central part of this semi-cylindrical metal plate 1 is die-pressed from the inner side to form a branch pipe part 2 and at the same time to form the lower half portion of the straight pipe part. Thence, both side edges 1' of the semi- cylindrical metal olate 1 are mutually bent to the inner side and are butt-walded. This T-pipe joint enables the contact friction resistance or electrical resistance of the fluid passing in the pipe to be decreased and the influence upon the fluid to be lowered.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method for bending rolled products for concrete without moving the bending roll back into the starting position because the cutter assumes a position which leaves the preceding rolled part (5') bent, this guarantees bending with a very small radius.
Abstract: Known devices for bending rolled products for concrete have the disadvantage that after a part of the said rolled product has been bent with a very small bending radius, the bending roll (3) for bending the subsequent straight part of the rolled product has to be brought into the starting position. The present device eliminates the operation of moving the bending roll (3) back into the starting position because the cutter (4') assumes a position which leaves the preceding rolled part (5') bent, this guarantees bending with a very small radius.
