Abstract: In order to perform the rigorous computation of the zeros of Bessel functions, we exploit classical approximants going back to Euler and recently generalized in the light of the Trefftz-Fichera orthogonal invariants method. Working in multiple precision (up to 140 significant figures in decimal system), we compute explicit approximants obtaining more than 100 exact figures for the first positive zero. By inversion of this zero as a function of the order, we evaluate the first eigenvalue of the exponential potential Schrodinger operator with the same accuracy.

Abstract: The $q$ analog of Modified Bessel functions and Bessel-Macdonald functions, were defined in our previous work (q-alg/950913) as general solutions of a second order difference equations. Here we present a collection of their representations by the Jackson q-integral.

Abstract: In signal processing, mainly in audio domain, the need for a linear phase characteristic is sometimes more important than the frequency specifications concerning the pass band and stop bandwidth. For these applications, we need a Bessel approximation for the frequency characteristics. If the application is designed for portable devices low power and low voltage building blocks are also required. Log-Domain circuits may be very suitable. We propose and analyze in this paper a log-domain 4 th order Bessel filter and emphasize its performance in comparison with an AO-RC design.
