TL;DR: The designed WVFD filter is used to develop an adaptive sub-sample time delay estimation algorithm in which the filter coefficients are updated by using the least mean p-power (LMP) error algorithm.
Abstract: In this paper, the design and application of wide-range variable fractional delay (WVFD) is presented. First, the design of WVFD filter is studied including Lagrange method and least square (LS) method. Then, the designed WVFD filter is used to develop an adaptive sub-sample time delay estimation algorithm in which the filter coefficients are updated by using the least mean p-power (LMP) error algorithm. Finally, simulation examples are demonstrated to show the effectiveness of the proposed design and estimation method.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a novel generation method for Rayleigh distribution clutter in CR, which adopts white Gaussian noise sequence and Bessel filter, and can be generated through nonlinear transformation.
Abstract: Research on clutter modeling and generation is very important in echo analysis, especially for CR (cognitive radar) working in complex environment. In this paper, we propose a novel generation method for Rayleigh distribution clutter in CR. This method adopts white Gaussian noise sequence and Bessel filter, and Rayleigh distribution clutter can be generated through nonlinear transformation. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the method, and the estimated value and theoretical value are consistent with each other in both clutter amplitude and spectrum. Finally, the whole paper is summarized.

TL;DR: In this article, a review on three types of techniques in designing digital all-pass filters based on group delay is presented, and the most optimized of the three is chosen to be implemented in MATLAB in order to decrease the group delay variation of a 5th order Chebyshev low-pass filter with cut-off frequency of 160 MHz.
Abstract: This paper presents a review on three types of techniques in designing digital all-pass filters based on group delay. All the three methods use the same basic concept rooting back to the requirement of a stable transfer function of the filter which should be a minimum-phase type, and the denominator group delay. The most optimized of the three is chosen to be implemented in MATLAB in order to decrease the group delay variation of a 5th order Chebyshev low-pass filter with cut-off frequency of 160 MHz. The digital transfer function of the low-pass filter is obtained from the analog transfer function by means of bilinear transformation. The sampling frequency of the digital LPF is 100 times the cut-off ffrequency to retain the response of the analog LPF. Both of the filters are then cascaded together and the overall group delays variations are analyzed. The variations of group delay shows a reduction but the price paid is the increase of the overall group delay of the system.

TL;DR: In this paper, the real zeros of the product and cross-product of Bessel and modified Bessel functions of the first kind are studied and the properties and the characterization of real entire functions from the Laguerre-Polya class via hyperbolic polynomials play an important role.
Abstract: The reality of the zeros of the product and cross-product of Bessel and modified Bessel functions of the first kind is studied. As a consequence the reality of the zeros of two hypergeometric polynomials is obtained together with the number of the Fourier critical points of the normalized forms of the product and cross-product of Bessel functions. Moreover, the interlacing properties of the real zeros of these products of Bessel functions and their derivatives are also obtained. As an application some geometric properties of the normalized forms of the cross-product and product of Bessel and modified Bessel functions of the first kind are studied. For the cross-product and the product three different kind of normalization are investigated and for each of the six functions the radii of starlikeness and convexity are precisely determined by using their Hadamard factorization. For these radii of starlikeness and convexity tight lower and upper bounds are given via Euler-Rayleigh inequalities. Necessary and sufficient conditions are also given for the parameters such that the six normalized functions are starlike and convex in the open unit disk. The properties and the characterization of real entire functions from the Laguerre-Polya class via hyperbolic polynomials play an important role in this paper. Some open problems are also stated, which may be of interest for further research.
