Abstract: More than ‘an’ ontological turn, during recent decades, anthropology has taken three distinct ontological turns. It has turned away from the human, away from evolution and away from sex. As a result, a lively and prolific anti-anthropology is steadily displacing anthropology. This new work has run the gamut from very interesting to very silly. At this juncture, a return to traditional anthropological approaches would be salutary.
