TL;DR: Evidence indicates that the inhibition caused by sodium pentachlorophenate (5 × 10−5M) is mainly due to accumulation of oxaloacetate, while inhibition by copper sulphate is mainlydue to its poisonous effect on the SH group contained in succinate oxidase, which was prevented by the addition of cysteine.
