TL;DR: In this article, the singular values of certain triangular random matrices are studied and the squares of the singular value form a biorthogonal ensemble, and with an appropriate change in the distribution of the diagonal elements, they give the biorhogonal Laguerre ensemble.

TL;DR: It is proved that the best results are obtained using ANN combined with the wavelet transform, and it is shown that Haar and Reverse biorthogonal 1 give the bestResults.
Abstract: The paper proposes a wavelet-based forecasting method for time series. We used the multiresolution decomposition of the signal implemented using trous wavelet transform. We combined the Stationary Wavelet Transform (SWT) with four prediction methodologies : Artificial Neural Networks, ARIMA, Linear regression and Random walk. These techniques were applied to two types of real data series: WiMAX network traffic and financial. We proved that the best results are obtained using ANN combined with the wavelet transform. Also, we compared the results using various types of mother wavelets. It is shown that Haar and Reverse biorthogonal 1 give the best results.

TL;DR: Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed Fourier-Wavelet features can provide promising performance for iris recognition.
Abstract: This paper presents an effective iris recognition system for iris localization, feature extraction, and matching. By combining the shift-invariant and the multi-resolution properties from Fourier descriptor and wavelet transform, the Fourier-Wavelet features are proposed for iris recognition. A similarity measure is adopted as the matching criterion. Four wavelet filters containing Haar, Daubechies-8, Biorthogonal 3.5, and Biorthogonal 4.4 are evaluated and they all perform better than the feature of Gaussian-Hermite moments. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed features can provide promising performance for iris recognition.

TL;DR: In this paper, it has been shown that molecular interactions can be diagrammatically expanded using biorthogonal orbitals and non-Hermitian operators so that all intramolecular terms cancel.
Abstract: It has been shown in a previous paper that molecular interactions can be diagrammatically expanded using biorthogonal orbitals and non‐Hermitian operators so that all intramolecular terms cancel. The purpose of this paper is to extend this method to the general case where degenerate and quasidegenerate configurations appear both in each subsystem and in the supersystem. We also study in more detail the development of the wavefunctions and the consequences on varied observables.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply the nonlinear steepest descent method to a class of 3 × 3 Riemann-Hilbert problems introduced in connection with the Cauchy two-matrix random model.
Abstract: We apply the nonlinear steepest descent method to a class of 3 × 3 Riemann-Hilbert problems introduced in connection with the Cauchy two-matrix random model. The general case of two equilibrium measures supported on an arbitrary number of intervals is considered. In this case, we solve the Riemann-Hilbert problem for the outer parametrix in terms of sections of a spinorial line bundle on a three-sheeted Riemann surface of arbitrary genus and establish strong asymptotic results for the Cauchy biorthogonal polynomials.
