TL;DR: In this paper, the formation of protruding "blister" microstructures in polyimide and PMMA thin films using tightly-focused femtosecond pulses was studied and implanting a reflective metal layer in the polymer film lowers the required pulse energies for forming blisters and prevents film rupture.
Abstract: We present the formation of protruding ‘blister’ microstructures in polyimide and PMMA thin films using tightly-focused femtosecond pulses. We also show that implanting a reflective metal layer in the polymer film lowers the required pulse energies for forming blisters and prevents film rupture.

TL;DR: In this paper, blisters were found in Zr-2.5 wt% Nb and high purity Zirconium, in either the fully annealed or 40% cold-worked conditions, were irradiated with 50 keV helium ions at temperatures between 100 K and 773 K to doses up to 2 × 10 22 ions/m 2.

TL;DR: In this paper, a preparation and butt-joint forming method for non-cutting translucent ceramic blisters is proposed. But the method has the advantage of simple process and the subsequent cutting link is omitted for the prepared multiple green bodies, so that the manufacturing cost is reduced.
Abstract: The invention relates to a preparation and butt-joint forming method and a preparation and butt-joint forming device of non-cutting translucent ceramic blisters. The method comprises the following steps of (1) preparing raw materials of translucent blisters before injection molding in conventional mixing, smelting and crushing processes; (2) inclining the raw materials downwards and pouring the raw materials to a product mold cavity along the position between the main plane of the feeding end and the side surface of the feeding end of a mold so as to form non-cutting ceramic blister green bodies; and (3) putting the non-cutting ceramic blister green bodies after injection molding on a special butt platform, and locally heating the connecting position by a heater, so that the two blister green bodies are firmly combined. The method has the advantage of simple process, and the subsequent cutting link is omitted for the prepared multiple green bodies, so that the manufacturing cost is reduced; the adopted butt-joint mode is reliable and efficient, the butt-joint accuracy of the green bodies is high, and the intensity of the butt-joint position is high after the green bodies are in butt-joint, so that the quality of two and multiple blisters is stable and reliable.
