TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a collection of colloidal metal compositions suitable for combating microorganisms in living tissue and cells comprising as active ingredient at least one colloid metal dispersed in a carrier solution non-reactive to the metal, the metal being selected from Pt, Pd, Rh, Cu, Ru, Os, Ir, Tb, Pr, Ce, Th, Pa, U, Hf, W, V, Re, Zn, Cd, Hg, Au and Ag, the major proportion of the colloidal particles being from 10 -5
Abstract: 1,270,410. Bactericidal compositions. ALLOR CORP. 25 Sept., 1969, No. 47314/69. Headings ASB and A5E. . Compositions suitable for combating microorganisms in living tissue and cells comprise as active ingredient at least one colloidal metal dispersed in a carrier solution non-reactive to the metal, the metal being selected from Pt, Pd, Rh, Cu, Ru, Os, Ir, Tb, Pr, Ce, Th, Pa, U, Hf, W, V, Re, Zn, Cd, Hg, Au and Ag, the major proportion of the colloidal particles being from 10 -5 to 10 -6 cm in size. Some of the colloidal metal may be present as a chelate with a strychnine, brucine or reserpine alkaloid, the chelate being in part dissociated. The colloidal particles may be maintained unclustered or within the specified size range by irradiation, e.g. with γ- or x-rays. The compositions may be in forms suitable for topical application.

Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, a method for the separation of all the components of a complex mixture of acids or bases by counter-current distribution with progressive variation of the pH was proposed, and the function that controls the double distribution and dissociation equilibrium in the case of a weak base was investigated.

TL;DR: In this paper, a semiquantitative method for the determination of 13 alkaloids (nicotine, quinine, strychnine, brucine, ephedrine, pilocarpine, narcotine, cinchonine, ajmaline, atropine, cocaine, papaverine and morphine) was developed.
Abstract: A semiquantitative method for the determination of 13 alkaloids (nicotine, quinine, strychnine, brucine, ephedrine, pilocarpine, narcotine, cinchonine, ajmaline, atropine, cocaine, papaverine and morphine) from a single drop of solution by making “circular spots” on chromatoplate with the circular thin-layer Chromatographic apparatus and their comparison with sensitivity standard has been developed. The accuracy is ±5% and the procedure is rapid, simple and economical.

TL;DR: In this paper, a color reaction was developed for Spectrophotometric determination of manganese in minute quantities and the maximum tolerable limit of other cations and anions was reported.
Abstract: Manganese solution in sodium hydroxide when mixed with brucine followed by HCl produces pink color having 1μg/ml as visual limit of identification and maximum absorbance at 475 nm. This color reaction has been developed for the Spectrophotometric determination of manganese in minute quantities. The maximum tolerable limit of other cations and anions is reported.
