TL;DR: In this article, an alcohol-based low toxic solid fuel with the inherent combustibility retained by incorporating base component plus combustion component with as bitter substance disodium benzoate, etc.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an alcohol-based low toxic solid fuel with the inherent combustibility retained by incorporating base component plus combustion component with as bitter substance disodium benzoate, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective solid fuel can be obtained by incorporating (A) a combustion component consisting of an alcohol plus (B) a base component consisting of a fatty acid sodium salt, dibenzylidene-D-sorbitol or carboxyvinyl polymer with (C) as bitter agent, disodium benzoate, brucine, 8-acetylated sucrose or Swertia japonica extract. The preferable amounts of the respective components C to be used are as follows: disodium benzoate: >=0.0001wt.%; brucine: >=0.01wt.%; 8-acetylated sucrose: >=0.1wt.%; Swertia japonica: >=0.1wt.%.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of various alkaloids of vegetable origin on the corrosion of zinc in 1M solutions of tartaric, citric, acetic, propionic, mono-, di-and trichloracetic acids was investigated.
Abstract: Some alkaloids of vegetable origin namely narcotine, papaverine, brucine, strychnine, cinchonidine, quinidine and ephedrine
were examined by weight loss and polarization measurements with regard to their inhibitive effect on the corrosion of zinc
in 1M solutions of tartaric, citric, acetic, propionic, mono-, di- and trichloracetic acids. In the hydroxy acids the opium and
the nuxvomica alkaloids give inhibition efficiency ranging from 58 to 82%, papaverine leading the others. In the mono carboxylic
acids the performance of all the alkaloids is poor except that of papaverine. In chloracetic acids narcotine, papaverine and
brucine give inhibition efficiency of 70% or more at the higher concentrations only in monochloracetic acid. The polarization
experiments of zinc in the systems giving more than 50% inhibition efficiency have also been carried out.
The effect of cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) and hexadecyl pyridinium chloride (HDPC) on the corrosion of
zinc in hydrochloric and sulphuric acids has also been investigated. It has been observed that the performance of HDPC is
better (I.E. 99.0%) than that of CTAB in both the media and this has been attributed to the presence of a pyridine ring in
the former. From polarization experiments it is concluded that the inhibitive action of HDPC is under cathodic control as evidenced
by appreciable cathodic polarization, whereas that of CTAB is under mixed control. The results are discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper , a simple ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the simultaneous quantitative determination of brucine, strychnine, liquiritin, isoliquiritin and glycyrrhizic acid concentrations and it was applied to compare the content of different phases and measure the release characteristics of the sedimentary phase in the NLD decoction.
Abstract: The decoction turns into a complex multiphase system following exposure to high temperature and a complex chemical environment. However, the differences in the concentration of key active ingredients in different phase states and the release of drugs in sedimentary phase have yet to be elucidated. A simple ultra-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated for the simultaneous quantitative determination of brucine, strychnine, liquiritin, isoliquiritin, isoliquiritigenin and glycyrrhizic acid concentrations and it was applied to compare the content of different phases and measure the release characteristics of the sedimentary phase in “Glycyrrhiza glabra-Nux vomica” decoction (NGD). The results show that the method’s selectivity, precision (intraday and interday ≤ 2%), matrix effect (101–108%), recovery and stability results were acceptable according to the guidelines. The method is sensitive and reliable. The content determination results show that the most toxic strychnine in the sedimentary phase accounted for 75.70% of the total components. The different components exhibited differential release in different media, and its components were released in the artificial intestinal fluid up to 81.02% in 12 h. Several components conformed to the primary kinetic model and the Ritger–Peppas model, and the most toxic compound exhibited slow release, thus conforming to the Ritger–Peppas model. This study provides a standard of reference for studies investigating reduction in toxicity of the combination of Glycyrrhiza glabra (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) and Nux vomica (Strychnos nux-vomica L.).

TL;DR: In this article, a two-dimensional liquid chromatogram technology was used to extract brucine from the fruit body of nux vomica as a natural product, and a whole separation and purification method was proposed.
Abstract: The invention provides a brucine extraction method. By using a two-dimensional liquid chromatogram technology, brucine is extracted from the fruit body of nux vomica as a natural product; by reasonably selecting chromatographic columns, dissolved solutions, mobile phases and the like, and optimizing process conditions such as flow speed, elution modes and collection sections, a whole separation and purification method is practicable, the operation is simple and convenient, the automation degree of instruments is high, the method can be performed under normal temperature and normal pressure, the repeatability is high, obtained material components in different batches are high in consistency, the operability is good, and the obtained brucine has high purity capable of reaching more than 99 percent, and can be directly applied to industrial production.
