TL;DR: In this paper, the electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole on indium tin oxide coated glass and platinum electrodes in several aqueous buffer solutions is presented, and it was found that the polymerization proceeded smoothly in Kolthoff buffers of pH 2-3.5, leading to conducting polypyrrole (PPy) films.

Abstract: Carbon film disk electrodes with Nafion coatings have been characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) with a view to a better understanding of their advantages and limitations in electroanalysis, particularly in anodic stripping voltammetry of metal ions. After initial examination by cyclic voltammetry, spectra were recorded over the full potential range in acetate buffer solution at the bare electrodes, electrodes electrochemically pretreated in acid solution, and Nafion-coated pretreated electrodes in the presence and absence of dissolved oxygen. EIS equivalent circuit analysis clearly demonstrated the changes between these electrode assemblies. In order to simulate anodic stripping voltammetry conditions, spectra were also obtained in the presence of cadmium and lead ions in solution at Nafion-coated electrodes, both after metal ion deposition and following re-oxidation. Permanent changes to the structure of the Nafion film occurred, which has implications for use of these electrode assemblies in anodic stripping voltammetry at relatively high trace metal ion concentrations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the negative difference effect on anodically polarized Mg was studied by galvanodynamic measurements coupled with real-time gravimetric H2 volume collection, the scanning vibrating electrode technique, and potentiodynamic polarization experiments.
Abstract: Hydrogen evolution (HE) on anodically polarized Mg, commonly referred to as negative difference effect, was studied by galvanodynamic measurements coupled with real-time gravimetric H2 volume collection, the scanning vibrating electrode technique, and potentiodynamic polarization experiments. High purity Mg (99.96% Mg) electrodes were studied in chloride-free 0.1 M citric acid solution buffered at pH with the aim of determining the source of anodic HE and the role of the corrosion film on the process. In such conditions of pH, the typical dark corrosion product exhibited in neutral and alkaline solutions was not found, but the HE rate still increased with increasing potential. Evidence that HE on dissolving high purity Mg is associated with the regions dominated by the anodic dissolution reaction is provided. The role of noble impurity enrichment on the electrode surface during anodic polarization and the effect of Fe re-deposition are also discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a fast and convenient analytical method is presented for the determination of catechin, which is significantly enhanced by immobilization of a film of poly-aspartic acid on the surface of the glassy carbon electrode.
Abstract: A fast and convenient analytical method is presented for the determination of catechin The electrochemical response of catechin in pH 68 phosphate buffer solution is significantly enhanced by immobilization of a film of poly-aspartic acid on the surface of the glassy carbon electrode The enhancement mechanism and effect factors such as pH value, accumulation time and scan rate, were explored Under optimum conditions, the differential pulse voltammetry peak current of catechin is proportional to the concentration in the range from 25 × 10−7 to 30 × 10−5 molL−1, with the detection limit of 72 × 10−8 molL−1 This method was also applied to the determination of catechin in tea beverage samples, and the recoveries were from 971% to 1027%
