Abstract: Welding process comprises determining the temperature of at least one joining partner (2a, 2b) during the process and controlling a welding parameter of a laser beam (1a) used in the process based on the temperature. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the welding process.

Abstract: This paper presents an overview of the latest research on ultrasonic welding of composites performed at the Delft University of Technology. Firstly, we showed that for thermoplastic composites, a simple flat energy director shape, made of a loose film of neat resin, can be used to produce welds of high quality. Furthermore, for single lap shear coupons, it was shown that the use of a microprocessor-controlled welder allows for in-situ monitoring through power and sonotrode displacement data. As a result, a smart ultrasonic welding procedure was designed in which the feedback from the ultrasonic welder was used to define the processing parameters that yield optimum weld quality, significantly decreasing development times. Based on the knowledge developed at a lab-scale level, a welding strategy was developed to demonstrate the assembly of small and medium-sized components. Experimental comparison between ultrasonically spot-welded and mechanically fastened joints into double-lap shear and pull-through configurations further outlined the potential application of this technology, as well as its limitations. While ultrasonic welding is an efficient technique to join thermoplastic composites components, another potential application was shown to be the welding of thermoplastic and thermoset composites, enabled through the very short heating times in the ultrasonic welding process. This opens up new possibilities for ultrasonic welding where optimum design and manufacturing of aircraft parts call for the assembly of dissimilar materials, and could lead to significant costs and weight reduction as compared to mechanical fastening.

TL;DR: In this article, a method for welding a dissimilar material welded joint between a Cr-Mo low-alloy steel/carbon steel-austenitic stainless steel composite plate and austenitic steel was proposed.
Abstract: The invention provides a method for welding a dissimilar material welded joint of a composite plate, belongs to the field of dissimilar material welding of composite plates of pressure vessels, and aims to solve the problems that the corrosion resistance at the welded joint part is reduced, welding cracks easily occur in the joint face of a composite plate and the like According to the technical scheme, the method mainly comprises the following steps: processing a groove, removing the clad layer and oil rust on the periphery of the groove until the periphery of the groove has metal luster; surfacing from the bottom of the groove, surfacing the insulating layer on the side of the composite plate, and performing stress relieving annealing thermal treatment on the composite plate; welding by adopting small-sized welding rods in a multi-layer and multi-pass welding manner; and performing butt welding on the composite plate and an austenitic stainless steel material, performing manual tungsten argon arc welding for the backing weld, filling the weld pass by adopting shielded metal arc welding, small-size, small thermal input, short arc quick welding and multi-layer multi-pass welding The method can be used for welding a dissimilar material welded joint between a Cr-Mo low-alloy steel/carbon steel-austenitic stainless steel composite plate and austenitic stainless steel, has excellent welded joint quality, and can be used for overcoming the defect of the prior art

TL;DR: In this article, a multiple spot resistance welding machine for the welding of wire grids by direct current comprises several contact electrodes (4.1.1, 4.2.2,... ) contacting a respectively associated grid point from both sides.
Abstract: A multiple spot resistance welding machine for the welding of wire grids by direct current comprises several contact electrodes (4.1.1, 4.2.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.2, . . . ) contacting a respectively associated grid point from both sides. The switching arrangement for the simultaneous application of welding current to all contacted grid points exhibits, for each contact electrode pair (4.1.1/4.2.1, . . . , 4.1.5/4.2.5), a welding transformer. Juxtaposed welding electrode pairs are floating with respect to potential in accordance with this invention so that the sole transverse connection is constituted by the transverse wire (1). A separate contact electrode pair is provided for each grid point.
